Huddersfield are presented with one final opportunity to carve out a chance on goal, but once again they're unable to do so as Depoitre fails to latch onto a cross from Hadergjonaj. That should be that.
90' +1
Morata goes close! Chelsea move the ball around really well as Hazard embarks on yet another great run, and Morata then unleashes a thumping strike that is deflected just wide of the near post.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be three minutes of added time.
88'
With only two minutes of normal time remaining, Chelsea are understandably content to patiently knock the ball around as they run down the clock. It's been a really tough afternoon for Huddersfield, who have struggled at both ends of the pitch.
86'
The set-piece is woefully executed, as the attempted cross sails over everyone inside the Chelsea box and out for a throw-in on the opposite flank. Huddersfield really haven't been at their best today.
85'
Huddersfield push forward on an attack of their own and win a free-kick in a decent position. Mooy steps up and curls a cross over to the far post, where Alonso does well to nod the ball behind for a corner.
84'
It's Hazard who steps up and shoots, but his strike is fired straight into the wall of players camped in front of him and Huddersfield manage to hold on.
83'
T. Kongolo gets yellow.
Hazard embarks on another spectacular run through the middle of the pitch before being clumsily fouled by Kongolo just outside of the penalty area. Can Chelsea make it 4-0?

Pedro receives a rousing round of applause from the Chelsea fans as he's replaced by Moses.

Pedro has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by E. Hazard.
GOAL! It's 3-0 to Chelsea! Hazard embarks on a wonderful run through the middle of the pitch before poking the ball over to Pedro. The Spaniard then breaks into the box and nonchalantly chips a lovely strike over the onrushing Hamer and into the back of the net.
That really was a wonderful piece of skill from Hazard. The Belgian embarked on a sublime run through the middle of the pitch before perfectly finding Pedro in front of goal.
79'
Another decent cross is fired into the Chelsea penalty area and manages to find Depoitre, who gets a head on the ball but sends a tame effort straight into the hands of Kepa.
77'
A clever touch from Morata sees him get the better of Jorgensen as he powers towards the Huddersfield penalty area. He then tries to take on Schindler, but the defender stands firm and wins back possession for the home side.
76'
E. Hazard enters the game and replaces Willian.
Sarri has decided to put Hazard on for the final 15 minutes, with Willian making way.
75'
Hadergjonaj bursts down the right wing on a great run before cutting a clever pass back to Depoitre. The striker quickly shoots, but his effort is a rushed one and clears the crossbar by quite some distance.
73'
Huddersfield seem to have been lifted by Diakhaby's introduction, and they push forward before winning themselves a free-kick. Mooy's cross is a good one and picks out Billing, who then forces Kepa into making a save. The referee doesn't spot it, though, and instead awards a goal-kick to Chelsea.
71'
A. Diakhaby enters the game and replaces C. Löwe.
Huddersfield have brought on new signing Diakhaby to replace Lowe. It looks as if they're going to switch to a back four.
70'
Mooy battles his way towards the Chelsea penalty area before setting up Mounie, but the striker is quickly closed down and fails to get a shot away before being dispossessed.
69'
David Luiz gets yellow.
Depoitre receives the ball as Huddersfield try to quickly counter-attack, but he's immediately clattered into by Luiz and the Brazilian leaves the referee with no choice but to book him.
68'
R. Loftus-Cheek enters the game and replaces R. Barkley.
Chelsea have decided to make their first change of the game, with Barkley making way for Loftus-Cheek.
67'
Huddersfield need to do something different if they're to find a way back into the game. Bringing on Depoitre made sense but a lack of creativity has left both he and Mounie on the fringes of the action. So far, it's been a very comfortable second half for Chelsea.
65'
Morata is clumsily fouled from behind by Kongolo and wins Chelsea a free-kick in a really dangerous position 25 yards away from goal. It's Alonso who steps up and shoots, but the Spaniard's strike is overhit and fails to trouble Hamer.
63'
Willian quickly cuts inside from the left wing and shoots from the edge of the box, but his strike is blocked and deflects behind for a corner. The Blues aren't able to make it count, and Huddersfield comfortably hold on.
60'
Mooy is clumsily fouled from behind by Barkley, resulting in a free-kick for Huddersfield in a decent position. The Australian sends a cross into the box, but it's poorly hit and bounces behind for a goal-kick.
58'
Alonso hits the bar! Huddersfield struggle to defend another corner, and this time it's Alonso who pulls off an acrobatic overhead kick that beats Hamer and smashes the woodwork. So close!
57'
Rudiger goes close! Alonso manages to keep the ball in play over on the left flank before trying to pick out Morata, who loses out to Schindler but wins Chelsea a corner. It's fired into the penalty area and finds Rudiger, whose downward header is well saved by Hamer.
55'
As was the case for the majority of the first half, Chelsea are comfortably dominating possession but aren't doing enough with it. They're moving the ball around too slowly, and it seems to be frustrating Sarri.
53'
Poor decision-making by Pedro! The Spaniard charges through the middle of the pitch and gets himself into a great position on the edge of the box. He then tries to tee up Morata but sees his pass easily blocked. Kante was all alone to his right and really should have been set up instead!
52'
The home side try to go long once again after bringing an end to an attempted Chelsea attack, but this time Mounie can only nod the ball out of play after managing to latch onto it in a decent area of the pitch.
50'
Huddersfield have the opportunity to push forward on their first attacking move of the second half after winning back possession, but Schindler's pass over to the left flank is poorly hit and sails out of play for a throw-in.
48'
Hamer is put under pressure and has to fire the ball out for a throw-in over on the left wing. Chelsea move the ball around patiently before Barkley breaks into the box, where he's well marshalled by the Huddersfield defenders.
46'
L. Depoitre enters the game and replaces A. Pritchard.
We're underway once again!
Huddersfield have made a switch during the half-time break, and it's an interesting one, with Pritchard making way for Depoitre.
45' +3
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-2 CHELSEA
45' +2
Huddersfield push forward over on the right flank and almost carve out a late chance on goal, but Kepa is just about able to get hold of Mooy's cross after being put under plenty of pressure.
45'
Penalty goal scored by Jorginho for Chelsea!
GOAL! Jorginho steps up and calmly slots a low shot into the bottom right-hand corner of the net to double Chelsea's lead.
44'
C. Schindler gets yellow.
Schindler is also shown a yellow card for his poorly timed challenge on Alonso, which has presented Chelsea with a great chance to make it 2-0.
43'
PENALTY! After a period on the back foot, Chelsea work the ball around well and push forward on a dangerous attacking move. Alonso breaks into the box and looks to shoot after linking up nicely with Barkley, but he's fouled by Schindler and the referee immediately points to the spot.
41'
Pritchard gets the better of Luiz as he embarks on a great run down the right flank. He heads towards the byline and chips a cross into the middle of the box, where Azpilicueta clears the danger - albeit unconvincingly.
39'
A cross-field pass from Lowe picks out Hadergjonaj, who then wins a free-kick after being fouled by Alonso. Lowe's curling cross is a good one but it's slightly too high for Mounie to reach.
38'
Mounie hits the post! Pritchard, who has been Huddersfield's best player so far, muscles his way down the right wing and wins the hosts a corner. It's whipped into the box and flicked on to Mounie, who beats Kepa with his headed effort but sends it onto the woodwork.
36'
Pedro makes a run into the penalty area as he tries to latch onto a chipped pass from Luiz, but Hamer is easily able to read the flight of the ball and collects it ahead of the Spaniard.
34'
N. Kanté has scored a goal for Chelsea! Assist by Willian.
GOAL! Chelsea have taken the lead! Willian cuts inside from the left flank and fires a dangerous cross into the penalty area, where Kante unleashes a slightly scuffed shot that bounces past Hamer and into the far corner.
That was good play by Willian, who hasn't convinced so far but did well to get a cross into the box. Huddersfield won't be pleased with their defending, mind, as they left far too much space available before Hamer was easily wrong-footed.
33'
Morata battles his way down the left flank and wins Chelsea's first corner of the afternoon. It's poorly executed, though, as Willian's overhit cross is easily collected by Hamer at the far post.
32'
Huddersfield go close! Azpilicueta is bullied off the ball by Billing, allowing the Dane to set up Pritchard to cross. The midfielder's pass is a good one and picks out Mounie, but the striker fails to make decent contact with the ball in front of goal.
31'
A wonderful pass from Luiz flies deep into the Huddersfield half of the pitch and sets up Willian, but the Brazilian's first touch is poor and sends the ball out of play before he can chip a cross towards Morata.
29'
Hadergjonaj tries to carve out some space for himself out wide as he charges down the right flank and towards a well hit long pass, but Kepa does well to read the danger once again and is there to meet the ball first.
27'
What a tackle by Kongolo! Willian breaks through the middle of the pitch and looks set to enter the box and shoot, but Kongolo is there to dispossess the Brazilian with a brilliantly timed sliding challenge.
26'
Pritchard is down on the ground once again, but the referee isn't interested in the coming together between the midfielder and Luiz. Billing is then able to get another shot away, but it's overhit and clears the crossbar.
24'
Chance for Billing! Nervy defending from Chelsea almost results in an opportunity for Pritchard, but he's brought down by Luiz before he can shoot. Billing then gets a scuffed shot away, but only after the referee awards a free-kick to Chelsea for the earlier incident.
22'
Barkley, who hasn't seen much of the ball so far, is brought into the game in a decent position and looks set to shoot, but his first touch lets him down and he loses his footing before he's able to do so.
20'
Chelsea aren't able to fully clear the danger and allow Huddersfield to push back forward. Pritchard is this time able to shoot from the edge of the box, but his effort is sent straight into the hands of Kepa.
19'
Hadergjonaj breaks down the right wing once again and sends a good pass into the penalty area, where it finds Pritchard. The midfielder brings the ball down well and tries to shoot, but Luiz is there to dispossess him at the vital moment.
18'
Chelsea finally lose possession and Huddersfield are able to push forward themselves. A lofted pass is fired down the right wing and into the path of Hadergjonaj, but it's overhit and the wing-back loses out to Alonso.
16'
Huddersfield were pressing well at the start of the game but are now sitting deep as they try to keep Chelsea at bay. The Blues haven't been great in possession so far but will surely find a way through sooner rather than later if the hosts fail to put them under enough pressure.
14'
Chelsea are seeing plenty of the ball at the moment but they're struggling to do a great deal with it. Once again they get themselves into a good position only for a misplaced pass from Jorginho to go straight to Jorgensen on the edge of the box.
12'
A quick break from Huddersfield looks as if it's going to result in a chance on goal, but Pritchard rushes his cross ever so slightly and can't pick out Mounie, who was the only player up with him.
10'
Chelsea quickly move the ball around as they try to find a way through the Huddersfield back line. They're unable to do so, though, as the home side remain compact and do well to win back possession.
8'
More good play by Huddersfield off the ball results in a throw in over on the right wing. It's launched into the penalty area by Billing and almost comes to a team-mate in front of goal, but Chelsea are just about able to clear the danger.
6'
Huddersfield don't look as if they're going to sit back and soak up the pressure. They're already pressing high up the pitch in an attempt to make life difficult for Chelsea, which they've already managed to do on a few occasions.
4'
Morata goes close! A poor clearance from Hamer causes all sorts of problems for Huddersfield, allowing Chelsea to break forward on a quick counter-attack. The ball is worked up to Morata, who spins and fires a low shot just wide of the far post before being flagged offside.
3'
After a relatively even start from both sides, it's Chelsea who push forward on the first attacking move of the afternoon. Decent passing brings Morata into the game on the edge of the box, but a poor ball out wide can only find a Huddersfield defender.
1'
We're off! It's Chelsea, playing in their yellow away kit, who get us underway.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of today’s Premier League game between Huddersfield Town and Chelsea at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Huddersfield defied the odds to survive their first ever campaign in the Premier League, with David Wagner pulling off a near miracle to keep the Terriers up, but will they come unstuck this time? It’s set to be another tough campaign for a team that flirted with relegation towards the end of last season, especially with newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham looking so strong.
Wagner was able to bring in a couple of new faces over the summer but the club’s activity was fairly limited, with three of their major pieces of business seeing them permanently secure the services of players who were on loan last season. Keeping hold of Jonas Lossl, Terence Kongolo and Florent Hadergjonaj was important but it remains to be seen if they’ve done enough to sort out their worrying problems going forward.
It was an odd summer for Chelsea, who were always going to get rid of Antonio Conte after a difficult campaign but were only able to replace him with Maurizio Sarri in the middle of July. It left the former Napoli boss with little time to work with his new team before last weekend’s Community Shield, which saw them barely put up a fight against a far superior Manchester City side.
The defeat against the reigning champions saw Sarri switch from Conte’s back three to the 4-3-3 formation he utilised with such joy at Napoli, but it remains to be seen how long it’ll take Chelsea to get used to the new approach. The manager himself has admitted that he needs time to implement his ideas, but the Blues hierarchy aren’t known for their patience and understanding.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Chelsea substitutes: Willy Caballero, Davide Zappacosta, Andreas Christensen, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Victor Moses, Eden Hazard, Olivier Giroud.
Chelsea XI (4-3-3): Kepa Arrizabalaga; Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Ross Barkley; Pedro, Alvaro Morata, Willian.
Huddersfield Town substitutes: Jonas Lossl, Jon Stankovic, Tommy Smith, Rajiv van La Parra, Ramadan Sobhi, Adama Diakhaby, Laurent Depoitre.
Huddersfield Town XI (3-5-1-1): Ben Hamer; Mathias Jorgensen, Christopher Schindler, Terence Kongolo; Florent Hadergjonaj, Aaron Mooy, Jonathan Hogg, Philip Billing, Chris Lowe; Alex Pritchard; Steve Mounie.
The most notable inclusion in the Huddersfield starting 11 is Hamer, the former Leicester goalkeeper who was signed in the summer. Lossl didn’t enjoy the best of pre-season campaigns, and it looks as if Hamer has been presented with an opportunity to stake a claim for a regular starting spot. Meanwhile, fellow new signgs Diakhaby, Sobhi and Stankovic are all on the bench.
As for Chelsea, Hazard is only able to be named on the substitutes’ bench, with Willian and Pedro starting either side of Morata. Newly signed goalkeeper Kepa is straight into the side, while Barkley will once again feature from the start in the heart of midfield.
Is it set to be another impressive performance in West Yorkshire from Willian? The Brazilian was involved in all three of Chelsea’s goals as they won 3-1 in this fixture last season, scoring one and assisting the other two.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
Chelsea haven't been entirely convincing so far but they nonetheless head into the half-time break with a two-goal lead under their belts. They've been slightly shaky at the back and not at their most fluid going forward, but it's going to take something really special from Huddersfield to get them back into the game in the second half.
Despite being 2-0 down, Huddersfield have caused several problems for their opponents. Pritchard has certainly been their standout performer so far, while Mounie has made a real nuisance of himself inside the penalty area, resulting in him hitting the woodwork with a bullet header.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half.
It's a bruising opening weekend defeat for Huddersfield, who were second best from start to finish and never looked like avoiding defeat. Chelsea weren't at their best during the first half but were much better on the break, and they were comfortably able to keep their struggling opponents at bay before Pedro wrapped up the win.
Sarri will certainly be pleased with how his side performed in the second half, and how much quicker their attacking moves were. Unsurprisingly, Hazard made a big impact after coming off the substitutes' bench, while the likes of Rudiger, Kante and Alonso also impressed.
