Brighton are beginning to grow into this game now and Everton could be left to rue a number of missed chances during their early dominance.
33'
CLOSE! A free-kick is flicked on inside of the box. Bolasie reacts quickest to meet it but he can only direct his header agonisingly wide of the far post.

Rooney spots the wide run of Walcott but Gaetan Bong rises high to intercept. Another Everton corner.
12'
The Toffees are on the attack again but this time it is wasteful by Bolasie. The winger is played into space by Cenk Tosun but his ranged curling effort is well over the bar.

Everton get the game underway, kicking left to right.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live coverage of today’s Premier League game between Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park.
Everton’s loss to Burnley last weekend was their sixth successive away defeat in the Premier League. The early promise of Sam Allardyce’s reign at Goodison seem to have faded somewhat and the Toffee’s manager will be keen to find a way to find a quick solution.
Allardyce’s side have dropped to 11th in the table, although they have only been beaten once at home since Ronald Koeman left the club, winning six and drawing two. They will be without defender Ashley Williams as he begins a three-match suspension, but captain Phil Jagielka is back after missing the defeat to Burnley and is likely to start.
Brighton’s impressive win over Arsenal last weekend means the Seagulls have recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League for the first time. They are unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions, with their last defeat coming in a 4-0 loss to Chelsea in January.
A win today for Chris Hughton’s side mean they can climb 10 points clear of the relegation places and three away from the 40-point benchmark. Albion’s one and only notable absentee is midfielder Steve Sidwell, who has missed the whole season with ankle and back injuries. Defender Ezequiel Schelotto was taken off following a heavy challenge in the Arsenal game but he should be available this afternoon.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Everton make four changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Burnley last weekend. Phil Jagielka comes in to replace the suspended Ashley Williams at centre-back, while Leighton Baines replaces Cuco Martina. Idrissa Gueye is replaced in midfield by Wayne Rooney and Yannick Bolasie is preferred on the left wing to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Brighton make only the one change that beat Arsenal 2-1, as Dale Stephens is replaced by Beram Kayal in midfield. Ezequiel Schelotto continues at right-back, following his injury substitution last weekend.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: EVERTON 0-0 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION.
All level at the break and Everton could be left to rue missed chances after being utterly dominant for the best part of 30 minutes. Both Seamus Coleman and Yannick Bolasie came close for the Toffees but they could not find the breakthrough. Brighton only had two half-chances of their own, both through Glenn Murray, but they never truly troubled Jordan Pickford.
The two sides are back out on the pitch, ahead of the start of the second half.
FULL-TIME: EVERTON 2-0 BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION.
Everton get their deserved three points after an impressive display at Goodison Park. Gaetan Bong fired Yannick Bolasie's cross into his own net while trying to hold off Theo Walcott before good link up play by Leighton Baines and Cenk Tosun allowed the later to rifle the ball into the back of the net. Brighton offered little going forward and their task was made near impossible when Anthony Knockaert was sent off for a reckless two-footed challenge on Baines. Everton's win means they climb up to ninth, while Brighton drop to 11th.
