Nketiah gets the game underway for Arsenal!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League meeting between Aston Villa and Arsenal at Villa Park!
Arsenal slipped to second place in the table after their 3-1 midweek defeat to Manchester City, though avoiding another loss here today will see them move back into top spot. They've suffered a blip in recent weeks, going winless in their last four in all competitions, including their last three in the league (D1 L3). They face a Villa side who were also beaten 3-1 by the Citizens in their last outing. After going on a four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League (W3 D1), Unai Emery's side have now lost their last two, and he'll be looking to turn things around against his former club.
ASTON VILLA STARTING XI (4-4-2): Emiliano Martinez; Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings, Alex Moreno; John McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara, Emiliano Buendia; Philippe Coutinho, Ollie Watkins.
ASTON VILLA SUBS: Ashley Young, Jacob Ramsey, Viljami Sinisalo, Calum Chambers, Jhon Duran, Lucas Digne, Bertrand Traore, Leander Dendoncker, Leon Bailey.
ARSENAL STARTING XI (4-3-3): Aaron Ramsdale; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Martin Odegaard, Jorginho, Granit Xhaka; Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard.
ARSENAL SUBS: Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira, Jakub Kiwior, Gabriel Martinelli.
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away!
Emery will be very pleased with how his side have responded after recent performances. They started the game on the front foot and regained their composure and control after the equaliser. Arteta was a frustrated figure on the touchline - Arsenal responded well to going behind, but then seemed to run out of ideas, and he'll be looking for a much better second half.
That's all for today, goodbye!
That win takes Arsenal back to the top of the league, three points clear of Manchester City, who will be kicking off shortly. They end their four-match winless run, and it's a visit to Leicester City up next for them. Villa have now lost their last three, and face a trip to relegation-threatened Everton next weekend.
