Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
When the sides met two weeks ago Tottenham took a 2-0 lead into the break at the Etihad Stadium, but were on the receiving end of a second-half City onslaught to lose 4-2. Antonio Conte's men have picked up victories over Fulham in the Premier League and Preston in the FA Cup since to regain their form. However, Spurs need to deliver a surprise result at home to put themselves back within striking distance of the top four.
City displayed their brilliance to come from two goals down against Spurs in their contest two weeks ago, and now have the opportunity to pile the pressure on Arsenal at the top of the table after their slip-up on Saturday at Everton. Pep Guardiola's men can close within two points of their rivals with a victory and are entering the contest with three-straight wins following their FA Cup win over the Gunners last time out.
TOTTENHAM (3-4-3): Hugo Lloris; Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies; Emerson Royal, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ivan Perisic; Dejan Kulusevski, Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min.
TOTTENHAM SUBS: Oliver Skipp, Davinson Sanchez, Richarlison, Arnaut Danjuma, Ryan Sessegnon, Fraser Forster, Pedro Porro, Clement Lenglet, Yves Bissouma.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Ruben Dias, Kalvin Phillips, Ilkay Gundogan, Aymeric Laporte, Kevin De Bruyne, Stefan Ortega, Sergi Gomez, Maximo Perrone, Cole Palmer.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-2-3-1): Ederson; Rico Lewis, Kyle Walker, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake; Bernardo Silva, Rodri; Riyad Mahrez, Julian Alvarez, Jack Grealish; Erling Haaland.
Tottenham will be well aware that City can come back and turn the tables in the second half. The next goal in the contest will be crucial and could well hold the key for Spurs in the game and their bid to finish in the top four.
Thanks for joining our commentary today. Until next time, goodbye.
Spurs take on Leicester City on the road next Saturday in their next Premier League outing. City are at home against Aston Villa next Sunday.
