Australia continued to dominate possession and territory but were held up by some outstanding Nepalese defence until the 38th minute when some more Leckie magic set up Fran Karačić. A controversial finish to the first half with Rohit Chand sent from the field for a tackle from behind on Martin Boyle who looked to be in on goal but accentuated the contact.
FULL TIME: NEPAL 0 AUSTRALIA 3 - The Socceroos maintain their 100% record in Group B with their seventh win, a comfortable victory over a gallant Nepal. Australia made hard work of it after the break against Nepal who played with just ten men in the second half - despite create numerous opportunity they were only able to find the back of the net once when Martin Boyle tapped in, in the 57th minute. Mathew Leckie was the standout for the Socceroos - the skipper scored the opener before setting up Fran Karačić late in the first half. If there was any doubt before, it's official now - Australia are through to the third and final stage of qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
