Hello and welcome to live commentary of this Euro 2020 Group A qualifying clash between Czech Republic and England.
England can seal their place at next summer’s tournament with a victory at the Eden Arena in Prague. The Three Lions have won all four of their qualifying matches so far, and success over second-placed Czech Republic would see them move six points clear at the top of the group.
SUBS: Josef Husbauer, Ondrej Kolar, Jiri Pavlenka, Jaromir Zmrhal, Jan Kopic, Stefan Simic, Ondrej Kudela, Michal Krmencik, Radim Reznik, Zdenek Ondrasek, Lukas Kalvach, Ladislav Krejci.
CZECH REPUBLIC (4-2-3-1): Tomas Vaclik; Vladimir Coufal, Ondrej Celustka, Jakub Brabec, Jan Boril; Tomas Soucek, Alex Kral; Lukas Masopust, Vladimir Darida, Jakub Jankto; Patrik Schick.
ENGLAND (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Kieran Trippier, Michael Keane, Harry Maguire, Danny Rose; Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice; Jadon Sancho, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling; Harry Kane.
SUBS: Tyrone Mings, Dean Henderson, Tammy Abraham, Joseph Gomez, Harry Winks, Nick Pope, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ross Barkley, Fikayo Tomori, Marcus Rashford, Ben Chilwell.
The national anthems are underway and it is almost time for kick-off at the Eden Arena.
That was an unconvincing first-half performance from England and Southgate will be looking for much more from his players in the second period. On the other hand, the Czech Republic performed well in the opening 45 minutes and may feel they should be heading into the break with the advantage. They have also looked strong at the back and England must now find a way of unlocking this defence, as they have failed to do so since the penalty in the fourth minute.
The Czech Republic are just three points behind England in the group standings, which means victory would provide a massive boost for the hosts’ qualification hopes. The Czechs have won three of their five matches in Group A up to this point, but their previous meeting with England ended in defeat as Gareth Southgate’s side sealed a comfortable 5-0 victory back in March.
The players are back on the pitch and the start of the second half is drawing closer at the Eden Arena.
That's all from our coverage of this Group A match. Thanks for following our live updates!
England will now have a second attempt at sealing their qualfiication when they travel to Bulgaria on Monday, with a victory seeing them book their place in next summer's tournament unless Kosovo beat Montenegro elsewhere in Group A. Meanwhile, this success will give the Czech Republic's qualification hopes a huge boost as they are now level on points with England, but it should be noted that Southgate's side have played one game less. The Czech Republic will now aim to build on this victory in their friendly match against Northern Ireland on Monday before their next qualifying match against Kosovo in November.
