No doubt about the result now, as Argentina are surely headed for defeat here despite a much better performance in the second half. It was a moment of brilliance from Martinez that proved the difference, ultimately - the same sort of moment Argentina craved but never quite got.
90'
There will be four minutes added on at the end of this match.
87'
D. Zapata gets yellow.
Unbridled joy for Zapata, who sees yellow for taking his shirt off in celebration. He won't be bothered one bit by that.
86'
D. Zapata has scored a goal for Colombia! Assist by J. Lerma.
Wonderfuly inviting delivery there from Lerma, who provides the assist.
SURELY THAT DOES IT! It's 2-0 Colombia and they are set to secure a famous win in Salvador! It's the other two substitutes who link up this time, as Lerma's driven cross is turned in by Zapata from five yards!
83'
Great hold-up play from Martinez, who has stolen the show for Colombia in this second half. A good burst of pace sees him get on the end of Ospina's drop-kick, and then he does even better to keep it and win a free-kick high up the pitch.
81'
D. Zapata enters the game and replaces R. Falcao.
Colombia's final change is a straight swap up top as Zapata comes on in place of Falcao.
79'
M. Suárez enters the game and replaces S. Agüero.
Suarez is brought on to replace Aguero for the final 10 minutes, not Dybala or Martinez. It's a bit puzzling to see the 31-year-old, without an international goal to his name, be the one called upon here to save Argentina.
77'
Messi is certainly capable of a lot better, but he skews a free-kick harmlessly wide of the near post from 30 yards after drawing Lerma into a foul. There's certainly a hint of desperation in that.
75'
Surely one more change is imminent for Argentina, especially with the likes of Martinez and Dybala available off the bench. It's all a bit frantic from them at the moment, shell-shocked after falling behind, but they're gearing up for a big final push.
Minute
Description
73'
That goal comes just as Argentina had really taken firm control of the match, and now they have it all to do. Their backs are against the wall with a little under 20 minutes to play. Can the likes of Messi and company solve this Colombia defence?
71'
R. Martínez has scored a goal for Colombia! Assist by J. Rodríguez.
James provides the assist on the goal, but that was all in the individual brilliance of Martinez.
A STUNNING HIT AND COLOMBIA LEAD! It's 1-0 courtesy of a goal out of the top drawer from Martinez! Very similar to the goal Everton scored for Brazil last night, Martinez bursts down the left flank before cutting inside onto his right and blasting a sensational finish in at the far post!
67'
G. Pizarro enters the game and replaces G. Rodríguez.
One Guido replaces another with Argentina's second change, as Pizarro comes on in place of Rodriguez in midfield.
64'
J. Lerma enters the game and replaces J. Cuadrado.
A second Colombia change is a bit of a negative one, as Lerma comes into midfield to replace Cuadrado. He'll provide more defensive stability, but certainly doesn't offer as much going forward.
60'
J. Cuadrado gets yellow.
TEMPERS FLARING! It's all boiling over in Salvador! Cuadrado catches Messi with a cynical foul, and he goes into the book. The whistle isn't heard straight away and there's another little collision after the play, which prompts a massive crowd to form near the referee as everyone gets in the faces of one another!
59'
TERRIFIC SAVE! A smart passage of play results in an Argentina corner, and the subsequent delivery comes all the way though for Paredes on the edge of the area, who smashes a venomous first-time volley at goal, but Ospina reacts superbly to parry!
57'
The tempo is just picking up a bit, as Argentina are starting to take some initiative and force the issue. They're looking a lot brighter and more energetic in possession, suddenly.
55'
L. Paredes gets yellow.
Paredes becomes the second Argentine player booked on the night, this for dissent.
52'
R. Saravia gets yellow.
Saravia is beaten for pace out wide as he scrambles across and slides into a late challenge on Barrios, which sees him into the book. No complaints from the full-back, either.
51'
There's just been no end product to speak of tonight, with the quality on the ball dropping significantly in the final third. Neither side is playing with much urgency, and it's showing.
49'
Colombia respond well with some fine interplay in the final third, winning a free-kick in an advanced area, and then a corner, but can't make much of either.
46'
R. De Paul enters the game and replaces Á. Di María.
Back underway in Salvador!
Argentina make one change at the break and it's De Paul who comes on, but Di Maria who gives way. A straight swap for the Albiceleste, when something a bit more positive was expected.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: ARGENTINA 0-0 COLOMBIA.
45'
There will be two minutes added on at the end of this first half, which is being played at a walking pace at the moment.
44'
It's all rather fizzled out at the end of this half, and there shouldn't be too much time added on. The injury to Muriel and a quick VAR check were the only real stoppages.
42'
G. Rodríguez gets yellow.
A nasty foul by Rodriguez high up the pitch on Cuadrado sees the Argentina midfielder pick up a yellow card. It's the first of the match for Argentina.
38'
Closer! Falcao rises highest to meet a James free-kick, but he just can't get the contact right as he misses the target. Colombia are really pressing for that first goal here, with Argentina unable to find their way out from defence.
35'
James always seems to elevate his game with Colombia, but he hasn't factored in too heavily in this first half. He sees a chance to get involved as he fires an effort from distance, but is unable to get his effort on target.
33'
There's no lack of tempo when Colombia are in possession, but the opposite is true of Argentina, who seem insistent on slowing things down with the ball at their feet. They're in no rush to break forward, which has made it so easy on Colombia to keep their shape.
29'
Again Argentina escape a scare as a result of some last-ditch defending, as Colombia were attacking in numbers on the break before Rodriguez was able to knock the ball behind for a corner. The Argentina fans are growing restless.
27'
It's all rather ponderous from Argentina at the moment. Messi is having to drop deep to get involved, and Aguero is very isolated up top. There's just a real lack of rhythm or cohesion from them.
25'
Argentina have failed to get going thus far, with Colombia looking by far the more threatening side in possession. Other than two balls over the top, the Albiceleste have yet to really get the ball forward.
23'
Important challenge! Martinez makes a good diagonal run as he's picked out on the edge of the penalty area, chesting the ball ahead without breaking stride, but Otamendi reads it really well as he slides in from behind to poke the ball away from danger.
19'
R. Falcao gets yellow.
Could that have been worse?! Falcao catches Paredes with a stray elbow to the face, and he sees yellow. That was a nasty one from the Colombia striker, who might be lucky to still be on the pitch.
18'
The pressure on the Argentina goal is relieved following a pair of Colombia corners. Set pieces could play a huge role tonight with Colombia's two towering centre-backs holding a significant height advantage over their Argentine counterparts. It might be another reason Foyth isn't starting tonight.
14'
R. Martínez enters the game and replaces L. Muriel.
Muriel is forced to give way as a result of an injury, as Club America forward Martinez replaces him.
13'
No love lost between these two sides as the challenges are coming fast and furious in these opening stages. Cuadrado and Otamendi are the latest to come together. Meanwhile, Colombia have a substitute warming up as it looks like Muriel's night is over.
7'
Ospina just does enough! Nervy moments for Colombia as Ospina sprints off his line and out of the penalty area as a ball is played over the top for Aguero. The keeper arrives first, but nearly misjudges is! He just gets the slightest of touches, however, throwing Aguero off as the chance amounts to nothing.
5'
Better from Argentina, who find their footing and escape the high press as they work their way forward encouragingly. Lo Celso is played into the area down the right channel, but Sanchez does well to close him down and block his shot behind for a corner.
3'
Colombia are pressing with plenty of energy in the early going, and Argentina look far from convincing in coping. Saravia's indecision sees him stripped of possession, but he puts some strong work in to win the ball back, before Pezzella is eventually fouled as the pressure is relieved.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! Colombia in their dark blue tops as they get the match underway, with Argentina in their classic white and sky-blue stripes!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of this Copa America match as Argentina and Colombia get their tournament underway at Salvador’s Fonte Nova stadium!
You’ve heard it time and time again, but all that’s missing from Messi’s trophy cabinet is international silverware. Countless heartbreaks and close calls have left Argentina battered and bruised in the Messi era, but a new chapter awaits.
The start of a new tournament might feel like a blank page for most, but the scars run deep for Lionel Messi and Argentina. Losers of the last two Copa America finals, Messi faces no shortage of critics as he sets out to finally get over the hump with the Albiceleste.
Equipped with a fresh crop of talent, the bulk of this Argentina squad is set to embark on their first Copa America – shielded from past anguish. This innocent enthusiasm could be the key to success. Hope springs eternal as the Albiceleste take a run a glory in enemy territory.
Standing in their way tonight is a Colombia side with similar aspirations. Third-place finishers in 2016, Los Cafeteros have a strong and experienced leader in coach Carlos Queiroz, while a strong showing on this soil at the 2014 World Cup suggests they may have arrived in Brazil keen on spoiling the party.
ARGENTINA (4-2-3-1): Franco Armani; Renzo Saravia, German Pezzella, Nicolas Otamendi, Nicolas Tagliafico; Guido Rodriguez, Leandro Paredes; Giovani Lo Celso, Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria; Sergio Aguero.
SUBS: Lautaro Martinez, Guido Pizarro, Juan Musso, Marcos Acuna, Milton Casco, Paulo Dybala, Matias Suarez, Ramiro Funes Mori, Rodrigo de Paul, Augustin Marchesin, Juan Foyth, Roberto Pereyra.
SUBS: Cristian Zapata, Edwin Cardona, Jefferson Lerma, Gustavo Cuellar, Luis Diaz, Duvan Zapata, Roger Martinez, Jhon Lucumi, Camilo Vargas, Cristian Borja, Alvaro Montero, Santiago Arias.
COLOMBIA (4-3-3): David Ospina; John Medina, Yerry Mina, Davinson Sanchez, William Tesillo; Juan Cuadrado, Wilmar Barrios, Mateus Uribe; James Rodriguez, Luis Muriel, Radamel Falcao.
It's been a dreadful display thus far from Argentina, and you would have to expect changes to be made, and soon. Rodriguez seems to be a bit redundant in the side as long as Paredes is in there, and with Argentina desperately lacking creativity in the middle of the park, Pereyra or De Paul could be welcome additions off the bench.
Up next for Argentina is a crucial date with Paraguay, while Colombia will look to book their place in the next round when they take on Qatar. That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
