Diakhaby picks up a booking for a stray elbow on Saul.
89'
OVER! Gaya gets his effort up and over the wall, but the ball does not come down quickly enough, and Oblak isn’t tested.
88'
That’s reckless play by Juanfran, who dangled out a leg, tripping Gameiro over, and Valencia now have a free-kick 20 yards out.
86'
It is far from a full house at Wanda Metropolitano today, but the Atleti faithful are in great voice now, with Simeone orchestrating things down on the touchline, as his team look to see out what would be a hard-fought win.
84'
S. Arias enters the game and replaces Álvaro Morata.
That run and cross will be Morata’s last involvement. Atleti’s first goalscorer has made way for Arias, who will slot into defence.
81'
Á. Correa has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by T. Partey.
Partey will get the assist for a neat pass into his fellow substitute, but it must be Correa who takes all the credit. His turn was clever, and his finish a pinpoint one that gave Neto no chance of making a save.
GOOOOAAAALLL!!! ATLETI SCORE! Incredible scenes in Madrid, as moments after being pegged back, Correa creates space with some clever footwork before curling in a sublime finish from the edge of the box. It's 3-2!
77'
Penalty goal scored by Dani Parejo for Valencia!
GOAL! Parejo makes no mistake from the spot, and makes it 2-2. His finish was a powerful one, and Oblak had little chance. The Valencia captain now has nine league goals to his name.
76'
Saúl gets yellow.
Saul receives a booking for deliberate handball. Atleti are furious, and the decision does seem harsh, but nevertheless, Parejo will now have the chance to restore parity.
73'
Rubén Sobrino gets yellow.
Another surging sprint forward by Atleti talisman Griezmann, and Valencia substitute Griezmann has little choice but to bring him down and pick up a booking.

Description
71'
T. Partey enters the game and replaces T. Lemar.
Lemar's game has come to an end. He is replaced by Partey, which would suggest Koke is going to move out wide again.
69'
Griezmann has turned on the style in this half, and is running Valencia’s defence ragged at the moment. Again, he drifts wide and puts in an inviting ball, but neither Lemar or Morata can connect with it.
65'
Straight away, Correa is in the thick of the action, racing clear in the right-hand channel before getting a shot off, with the ball spinning out off Gaya.
64'
Á. Correa enters the game and replaces Filipe Luís.
A first change by Simeone now, and it is an attacking one. Correa is on, replacing Filipe Luis. Saul will drop back to left-back, Koke will move central, and Correa will take up a role on the right.
59'
Rubén Sobrino enters the game and replaces Gonçalo Guedes.
A foul on Guedes by Savic forces a break in play, and Marcelino uses the stoppage to make his first change. It is Guedes who makes way, with Sobrino coming on.
56'
Filipe Luís gets yellow.
Filipe Luis has picked up Atleti's second booking, for a foul on Soler.
54'
Koke delivers a decent outswinging corner, but Valencia manage to clear. Just like early in the first half, though, Atleti are pressing high, and they quickly recover possession.
52'
Atleti have come out firing again after the break, and are now looking to put this game to bed before Valencia can recover.
49'
A. Griezmann has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by T. Lemar.
It has been a bright display by Lemar, and now he has capped it with a fine assist for what is Griezmann’s 15th league goal of the season.
ATLETI ARE BACK AHEAD! It’s 2-1 to the home side, after Lemar finds space down the left side of the box and takes full advantage, floating in a terrific cross. Griezmann is quickest to react, getting ahead of Gaya and planting a firm header into the bottom-right corner.
47'
Álvaro Morata gets yellow.
Soler went into the referee's book for a rash tackle in the first half, but now it is the Valencia midfielder who is the treatment of some rough treatment, as Morata picks up a card for a heavy challenge.
46'
We are back underway for the second half. No changes for either side.
45'
HALF-TIME: ATLETICO MADRID 1-1 VALENCIA.
44'
Griezmann takes matters into his own hands with a surging run to the edge of Valencia’s area. The forward has Juanfran in support down the right, but tries to catch Valencia’s defence out by threading a reverse pass into Lemar. Unfortunately for Atleti, the ball is intercepted just before it reaches its target.
40'
Strong defending from Garay, who stands his ground under pressure from Morata in order to head Griezmann’s cross clear. The whistle then goes for a foul by Morata, but Garay took no risks.
36'
K. Gameiro has scored a goal for Valencia! Assist by Santi Mina.
Santi Mina fluffed his lines a few moments ago, but - after taking in a wonderful first-time pass from Soler - composed himself to take on two Atleti defenders before setting up Gameiro, who did the rest.
VALENCIA ARE LEVEL! Atleti had been warned, but they didn’t learn their lesson! Another brilliant team move culminates in Santi Mina teeing up his strike partner Gameiro, who takes a fantastic first touch before slotting beyond Oblak. The celebrations are muted against his former club, but that goal will mean a lot. It’s all square at 1-1.
35'
Better from Valencia now! A swift counter-attack from the visitors sees Gaya push forward and combine with Gameiro before playing it into Soler, who can’t direct his effort on target.
34'
Santi Mina should do better! The youngster did well to trap a powerful pass into his feet, but then swings wildly at his shot, allowing Atleti to clear.
32'
Atleti are still catching Valencia out down the flanks, with Soler and Wass unable to cope with Lemar and Filipe Luis. Marcelino may well look to change things if possible at half-time, as his side have looked unbalanced so far.
30'
Brave defending from Juanfran, who lunges in to prevent Guedes getting in down the left. He wins the ball cleanly, but cannot stop himself sliding into the advertising boards, and takes a hefty knock. He should be okay to carry on without receiving treatment, though.
28'
A first sign of a bit of sloppiness creeping into Atleti’s play sees Lemar play a slack pass towards Griezmann, who can only concede a foul. Parejo then gets hold of the ball in midfield and skilfully weaves his way through two defenders before drawing a clumsy tackle from Rodri.
26'
Wass may be struggling to keep Lemar under wraps, but he has just shown a glimpse of what he can offer going forward by curling in a fantastic cross which Gameiro is just inches away from getting on the end of.
22'
Carlos Soler gets yellow.
Intelligent play from Filipe Luis, who drives forward but keeps his body between the ball and Soler, who is eventually drawn into a clumsy foul and, subsequently, receives the game’s first booking.
21'
More excellent attacking play from Atleti, who are looking rampant at the moment. Lemar has certainly got the beating of Wass, and toys with Valencia’s right-back before laying it off to the supporting Filipe Luis, who unleashes a snapshot. Neto cannot hold it, but his blushes are sparred by the linesman’s flag, with Morata having strayed offside.
17'
Valencia have managed to get a bit of a foothold in this game now, with Wass making some positive runs forward down the right. However, the former Celta Vigo man is soon forced to defend once more, as he has to turn a Griezmann cross out for a corner.
13'
Close call! Oblak is undoubtedly the best goalkeeper in LaLiga, though the Slovenia international, who penned a new contract with Atleti last week, just conceded possession with a dreadful clearance which Guedes pounced on. The Valencia winger swiftly strikes at goal, but Savic gets a leg to it to divert the ball over.
9'
Álvaro Morata has scored a goal for Atletico Madrid! Assist by Juanfran.
Guedes tried too much too close to his own goal, and was punished when he was robbed of possession. Atleti then took full advantage, with Juanfran putting in an excellent cross from which Morata could hardly miss.
GOAL! ATLETICO LEAD 1-0! Well, it has certainly been coming, and now the hosts have the advantage thanks to Morata’s sixth LaLiga goal of the campaign. A well-worked move, which followed a mistake by Guedes, results in Juanfran delivering a wonderful cross to the back post, where Morata was on hand to tuck home.
7'
Wass has been putting in some good displays at right-back for Valencia, but he is not a natural in that role, and Atleti seem to be targeting him as a weak link. Lemar again stands Wass up and manages to hammer in a decent cross, which Griezmann meets, and only an instinctive block by Diakhaby keeps the Frenchman out.
5'
Lemar changed – and ultimately won – the game for Atleti against Eibar, and the former Monaco youngster has looked sharp in the opening minutes. He gets the better of his marker with some neat footwork before curling in a low cross, with Morata just caught flat footed as the ball flashes in front of him.
3'
While Atleti need a victory to push themselves clear of Real Madrid, Valencia know a win would move them above Getafe, who face Zinedine Zidane’s side on Thursday and beat Sevilla in their last outing. It is the hosts who have started the brightest though, with Griezmann teeing up Koke on the edge of the area, but the Spain international drills over.

Kick-off! We are up and running in Madrid.
Hello and welcome to LIVE coverage of what is a pivotal clash in LaLiga, as Atletico Madrid host Valencia at Wanda Metropolitano.
An Atleti defeat today is all that stands in the way of Barcelona securing their 26th LaLiga title. Ernesto Valverde's side are 12 points clear as it stands, having beat Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday.
Atleti, though, are in good form, having won four of their last five league outings, with their only defeat in that run coming against Barca. Diego Simeone's side are just four points above fourth-place Real Madrid, and will be determined to extend that gap. Meanwhile Valencia - Barca's opponents in the upcoming Copa del Rey final - are in the hunt for Champions League qualification.
ATLETICO MADRID (4-4-2): Jan Oblak; Juanfran, Stefan Savic, Diego Godin, Filipe Luis; Saul Niguez, Rodrigo, Thomas Lemar, Koke; Antoine Griezmann, Alvaro Morata.
ATLETICO MADRID SUBS: Nikola Kalinic, Santiago Arias, Thomas Partey, Antonio Adan, Angel Correa, Francisco Montero, Vitolo.
VALENCIA (4-4-2): Neto; Daniel Wass, Ezequiel Garay, Mouctar Diakhaby, Jose Gaya; Carlos Soler, Daniel Parejo, Francis Coquelin, Goncalo Gueses; Kevin Gameiro, Santi Mina.
The teams are making their way out onto the pitch at a rainy Wanda Metropolitano. Kick-off is just moments away!
With his side having started so brightly, Simeone will surely be furious that they have let Valencia back into this game. Real Madrid are not far off their city rivals, and should Atleti not get all three points today, it would hand Los Blancos a real boost ahead of their clash with Getafe. Marcelino, meanwhile, will be satisfied with how Valencia worked their way back into the contest, though Wass’ failure to cope with Lemar could still prove to be an issue in the second half if the hosts can get the France winger more involved.
As for Valencia, they must hope that Real Madrid do them a favour when Los Blancos take on Getafe on Thursday, though Marcelino’s side are still in a great position to finish in the top four.
Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for tuning in, and goodbye!
