Both teams got off to a winning start in Group F, with Malta beating Faroe Islands 2-1 and Spain securing three points with a victory of the same margin over Norway.
Spain have responded well to defeats in the Nations League at the end of last year, against Croatia and England, beating Bosnia-Herzegovina and then Norway on Saturday. Following those defeats, they need to finish in the top two of this group in order to qualify for Euro 2020.

The hosts have reverted into a six man defence at times, which has frustrated Spain because they are unable to play quick football in behind and release Morata, who has two or three defenders around him at all times. The hosts will be hoping to get an opportuntity on the counter-attack during the second period.
