Last chance saloon for Bologna, who go direct in their quest to create a chance. However, a poor cross from Orsolini puts the ball behind for a goal-kick, handing possession to Milan.
90' +1
FOUR minutes of added time to end the second half.
89'
Milan closing in on a vital win for their battle to secure Europa League football, pulling one point behind Atalanta with just a few games remaining.
87'
Time running out for Bologna to find an equaliser but they are seeing a lot of the ball, with Milan sitting back to soak up the danger.
85'
R. Montolivo enters the game and replaces G. Bonaventura.
Third and final change for Milan, who bring on the experienced Montolivo into their midfield. Off comes Bonaventura, who scored Milan's second.
84'
Clear that Milan still have a lot of work to do ahead of next season but, as it stands, they will bring an end to their six-match winless run.
82'
C. Keita enters the game and replaces A. Masina.
Bologna now make their final change, replacing Masina with Keita.
80'
N. Kalinić enters the game and replaces P. Cutrone.
Second change for Milan, as Kalinic replaces Cutrone.
78'
Milan certainly aren't home and dry, with Bologna looking the more likely side to score. Gattuso's men could still pay for the glorious opportunities they've missed in the second half.
76'
F. Borini enters the game and replaces H. Çalhanoğlu.
First change from Milan, as Calhanoglu is replaced by Borini. The Turkey international had been the best player for the visitors today.
SUPERB SAVE! Bologna are prevented an equaliser from a strong hand from Donnarumma, who keeps Mbaye's effort out after lacklustre Milan defending.
Minute
Description
74'
S. De Maio has scored a goal for Bologna! Assist by S. Verdi.
GOAL! Bologna have the goal they've been searching for! De Maio stays forward after a set-piece and Verdi's cross finds the defender in the middle, who rises to head home his second goal of the season.
Superb cross from Verdi, who put the ball on a plate.
72'
OFF THE BAR! Bonaventura inches away from his second goal of the game after receiving Calhanoglu's pass on the edge of the area and firing onto the frame of the goal.
71'
Milan still yet to look to the bench for substitutes, which they may need as Bologna are growing into the game more and more. The last thing Gattuso's side need is to concede a goal that allows the hosts back into the game.
69'
Bonucci is back on the field, much to the annoyance of the Bologna fans who are convinced the Italy international was trying to waste time.
67'
Bonucci down holding his ankle and the game is eventually stopped, with neither Bologna or Milan's Suso putting the ball out of play. He receives treatment and Gattuso may be forced to take off his captain.
65'
Bologna have certainly had chances in this game but have been rather unlucky not to score, seeing a goal disallowed in the first half and then having an effort cleared off the line just then.
63'
SO CLOSE! Almost a nightmare moment from Donnarumma! He comes out to collect a corner but fails to grab onto the ball, with Palacio seeing an effort cleared off the line by Calabria. The Milan goalkeeper is then fouled, ending the danger.
60'
WHAT A SAVE! Another chance to put the game beyond doubt goes begging for Milan, as Suso charges into the box and sets up Cutroe. The young striker tries to tuck home but Mirante gets down quickly to grab onto the ball.
58'
S. Romagnoli enters the game and replaces G. González.
Another change for Bologna, who shake up the defence with the introduction of Romagnoli. Gonzalez makes way.
56'
Big chance wasted! Kessie plays a direct ball forward to Calhanoglu, who plays across to Suso but the Spain ace can only fire an effort over the top of Mirante's goal.
54'
Great strength from Zapata to ensure Palacio runs the ball out of play, as the Argentina veteran threatened Donnarumma's net once again. Bologna aren't out of this but they need a goal quickly.
52'
A. Masina gets yellow.
F. Avenatti enters the game and replaces Á. Nagy.
Bologna also take the opportunity to make the game's first change, replacing Nagy with Avenatti.
Masina has his name taken after blocking off Calabria's run, giving Milan a dangerous area to deliver a cross into the box.
51'
OFF THE POST! Milan banging on the door for a third! Cutrone sees a low effort bounce back off the frame of the goal, with Suso seeing his attempt on the rebound saved by Mirante.
50'
Milan break with intent but Cutrone can't cut the ball back across goal to Kessie, instead winning a corner. Suso takes it short and his deep ball to the far post is too high for Bonucci.
49'
Bologna also looking to push forward as they chase the game, which seems to be a lot more open than we saw in the first half.
47'
Milan continue to build from the back and look much more assured in their play due to their advantage. They look in the mood in the second period.
45' +3
We're into FIVE minutes of added time at the end of the first half.
45' +1
G. Bonaventura has scored a goal for AC Milan! Assist by H. Çalhanoğlu.
A goal and an assist for Calhanoglu today, not bad at all.
GOAL! There's the second for Milan! A mistake at the back gives the ball away and Bonaventura beats Nagy with fine skill, before firing into the far corner to double the advantage for Gattuso's side.
45'
KICK-OFF! Back underway, where Milan hold onto a crucial lead as they chase Europa League football for next season. Bologna get us started.
43'
There's no denying the ball hit Palacio's arm but I don't understand what he was expected to do about it. Anyway, Bologna have shown they can break Milan down but need to rally together.
41'
That is really harsh. Rodriguez tries to clear the ball away and it smashes into Palacio's arm, although he's far too close to be able to do anything about it. Milan can count themselves incredibly fortunate, Bologna will not be happy at all.
39'
Drama! Orsolini fires home an equaliser for Bologna but after a lengthy delay with VAR consulted, the 21-year-old's first goal for the club is disallowed!
36'
Milan somewhat fortunate to take the lead, as they'd offered nothing up until Calhanoglu fired home, but he deserves credit for taking the opportunity and giving Mirante no chance.
34'
H. Çalhanoğlu has scored a goal for AC Milan! Assist by P. Cutrone.
WHAT A STRIKE! Milan finally create an attacking move and Calhanoglu nets a stunning goal. Cutrone knocks it back to the Turkey international, who fires into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
First time we've seen Cutrone find space in the box and it paid off there. Milan have something to defend!
31'
Seen very little from Milan's front three this afternoon, who have looked completely isolated. They just can't get a grip on this game.
29'
Bonucci is back at the heart of defence for Milan, which is a major relief, but Gattuso will still be concerned by his side's performance in the opening half hour.
27'
Big concern for Milan as Bonucci is down and requires treatment, hobbling to the sidelines. The visitors will be down to ten-men temporarily.
25'
Verdi tries his luck with the free-kick but it's a comfortable save from Donnarumma. Bologna starting to look increasingly dangerous though.
23'
M. Locatelli gets yellow.
First booking of the game is issued to Locatelli after he fouls Palacio, giving Bologna a decent position to strike at goal.
21'
Calabria shows pace down the right to find room and deliver into the middle, though it's cleared away, and Kessie is also unable to craft an openin. Still yet to see much from Milan in the final third.
19'
OFFSIDE! Now the warning bells are really ringing out for Milan. Verdi smashes for goal and it loops up into the air, with Palacio the heading onto the post before the rebound is tapped home. However, the flag is raised by the assistant.
18'
Bologna starting to grow into the game with each minute, as Poli smashes a volley way over the bar. Hardly a threat from Donnarumma but the warning signs are starting to emerge for Milan.
16'
Well, really not much going on here at all. Milan's approach to this game is dangerous considering their position, especially with Gattuso saying this week that all of his squad are fighting for their futures.
14'
First opportunity we've seen from Bologna, as Palacio has a shot blocked by Zapata before the Argentina striker then runs the ball out of play.
12'
Better from Milan, as Zapata tries to go direct with a ball over the top but Cutrone can't quite latch onto the pass.
11'
Milan starting to find some rhythm down the left side, where Cutrone and Calhanoglu link-up well. Defensively Bologna are solid though and their pressure leads Gattuso's side to play the ball back to the defence and start again.
9'
A very placcid display from Milan, who really need a win to maintain their push for Europa League football. Their sport in seventh is far from secure and Bologna will be encouraged by the lack of threat from the visitors.
7'
A very contained display from both sides here, with the majority of the play coming in midfield. Neither side has created anything of note as of yet.
5'
Gattuso's men trying to build up attacks from defence but haven't really venuted into the Bologna half yet. A very slow start from both teams.
3'
Milan dominating possession in the early exchanges, which isn't too surprising, but they're not looking stable in defence. Bologna seem happy to hit on the counter but are yet to threaten.
1'
KICK-OFF! We're underway at the Renato Dall'Ara!
Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Serie A clash between Bologna and AC Milan, where the visitors need a win as they chase a spot in European football next season.
Bologna, mathematically, are not yet safe from relegation but their ten point advantage over the drop zone should certainly be enough. The hosts are hardly in a decent run of form though, winning just one of their last eight Serie A matches.
Milan, meanwhile, suffered a shock defeat to already relegated Benevento last weekend at the San Siro, issuing a stern hit to their hopes of Europa League football next season. Gennaro Gattuso's side enter today's match seventh, one point behind Atalanta and three ahead of Sampdoria and Fiorentina.
Bologna XI: Antonio Mirante; Ibrahima Mbaye, Sebastian De Maio, Giancarlo Gonzalez, Adam Masina; Adam Nagy, Erick Pulgar, Andrea Poli; Simone Verdi, Rodrigo Palacio, Riccardo Orsolini.
Milan XI: Gianluigi Donnarumma; Davide Calabria, Leonardo Bonucci, Cristian Zapata, Ricardo Rodriguez; Franck Kessie, Manuel Locatelli, Giacomo Bonaventura; Suso, Patrick Cutrone, Hakan Calhanoglu.
Bologna subs: Angelo Da Costa, Federico Di Francesco, Blerim Dzemaili, Emil Krafth, Ladislav Krejci, Lorenzo Crisetig, Cheick Keita, Federico Ravaglia, Vasilis Torosidis, Cesar Falletti, Simone Romagnoli.
Milan subs: Antonio Donnarumma, Luca Antonelli, Emanuele Torrasi, Nikola Kalinic, Mateo Musacchio, Fabio Borini, Gustavo Gomez, Andre Silva, Riccardo Montolivo, Marco Storari, Ignazio Abate, Jose Mauri.
Bologna make three changes to the side that drew 0-0 with Cagliari last week, with Dzemaili, Crisetig and Romagnoli dropping to the bench. Mbaye, Masina and Nagy coming into the side.
After the shock defeat last week, Milan also make three changes and bring Calhanoglu, Locatelli and Suso into the side. As such, Silva and Borini drop to the bench, while Lucas Biglia doesn't make the squad.
HALF-TIME! Certainly not a vintage performance from AC Milan but goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and Giacomo Bonaventura have given the visitors a two goal advantage at the break. Bologna did have the ball in the back of the net through Riccardo Orsolini but saw the goal disallowed following a Rodrigio Palacio handball.
Milan, meanwhile, haven't been at their best but have grown into the game as the half progressed. Gattuso will be happy to see his side have a two-goal advantage, with the second strike potentially being crucial.
Bologna will certainly feel unlucky after seeing their goal disallowed but they never managed to take advantage of Milan's slow start.
FULL-TIME! Far from a vintage performance from Milan but they return to winning ways to bring an end to a six game winless streak, thanks to goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and Giacomo Bonaventura. Sebastian De Maio pulled a goal back for Bologna in the second half but it proved to be too little too late for the hosts.
Another poor result for Bologna, who see their poor run of form extend to just one win from their last nine fixtures. There's still work to do for the mid-table outlet to end the campaign, where they clash with Juventus, Chievo and Udinese.
It's a vital three points for Milan, who pull one point behind Atalanta in sixth. They also extend their advantage over Fiorentina and Sampdoria to six points, with the former playing later today. Gattuso's side have Verona, Atalanta and Fiorentina to play, so there is still very tough fixtures around the corner.
