Great work from Davinson Sanchez who out-battles Gabriel Jesus to prevent a break! That's a preview of what's to come over the next decade in a battle between two future stars based in Tottenham and Manchester City.
87'
STAT: There have been just 11 goals in the last nine matches between these two sides.
85'
W. Tesillo enters the game and replaces F. Fabra.
Tesillo comes on to replace Fabra for the final five minutes plus stoppage time.
83'
Play comes to a halt here as Fabra goes down and requires some attention from the training staff. It doesn't appear to be anything more than a cramp, though, so it shouldn't effect his ability to march on here.
81'
DEFLECTED OVER! Gutierrez sends a strike whiskers above the bar after a deflection, but that's enough to get this crowd back into it. This stadium will erupt should Colombia find a late winner.
79'
It's getting a bit congested as we approach the final 10 minutes. The ball is being contained largely in midfield. Brazil aren't showing much urgency, and the game is there for the taking for Colombia, but they have to dig deep here to try and find a way.

Slowly the tempo is picking back up to where these teams left off. James is involved in a nifty move into the final third and he forces Alisson into a save at his near post, but it's a straightforward one for the Roma keeper.
71'
T. Gutiérrez enters the game and replaces E. Cardona.
Colombia make their second change out of the break as Teofilo Gutierrez replaces Cardona.
70'
Water break! It's an unwelcome stoppage as everything was picking up nicely...
68'
The tempo has picked up and just in time for a grandstand finish! Perfectly poised here in Barranquilla. There's no love lost between these two familiar nations! Brazil aiming to play spoiler, while Colombia trying to take a step closer to punching their ticket to the 2018 World Cup.

56'
R. Falcao has scored a goal for Colombia! Assist by S. Arias.
Tidy delivery, that, from Arias, who provides the assist.
THEY'RE RIGHT BACK IN IT! Barranquilla erupts as Colombia are back on level terms! Arias got free on the right and whipped in a delicious cross, which Falcao guides splendidly in at the far post! It's a massive goal for them!
54'
Colombia have dominated possession since the restart, but look even less of a threat. They're struggling to work their way through as it's all become a bit stale from them on the ball. Where's the urgency?
52'
STAT: Brazil have won nine successive World Cup qualifying matches for the first time in their history.
50'
The noise level has increased here as these supporters try and egg Colombia on. They know the importance of walking away with at least a draw, and they're doing everything in their power to help their nation's cause. It has been a solid start to the second half from Colombia, too.
48'
Some encouraging news for Colombia coming out of La Paz where Chile currently trail Bolivia 1-0 in the late stages of their match. That would make defeat today easier to swallow, but it would also make a victory that much more significant.
46'
Y. Chará enters the game and replaces J. Cuadrado.
Yimmi Chara replaces Cuadrado at the break.
Here we go again!
45' +3
HALF-TIME: COLOMBIA 0-1 BRAZIL.
45' +2

BARRANQUILLA SILENCED! Right at the end of this first half Colombia are carved apart! Neymar with a delicious touch to tee up Willian, who displays the perfect technique to hammer a finish into the top corner! No chance for Ospina and a big blow for Colombia!
Lovely set-up there from Neymar who is credited with the assist.
45'
There will be two minutes added on at the end of this first half.
43'
Well-struck from James, who gets the direction right and beats the wall, but he needed to put just a little bit more power behind it as Alisson is able to dive across and make the save at the far post. Plenty of pressure from Colombia as we approach the interval, but they need to make it pay off.
41'
Real chance here for Colombia as they continue to apply concentrated pressure on the Brazil goal. Cuadrado does well to shield the ball before being tripped up from behind, giving the hosts a shooting chance from the upcoming free-kick, about 25 yards from goal.
39'
STAT: Colombia have lost just one of their last 13 qualifying matches on home soil (W9, D3).
37'
Colombia are finding some joy down the right-hand flank now. Arias and Cuadrado link up nicely here and the latter appears to be through on goal, but the offside flag is raised late as the attack comes to a halt. Good decision from the referee, though.
35'
Vital cover from Thiago Silva to claim a dangerous throughball intended for Arias, who had all sorts of space ahead of him to whip in a cross. Colombia are managing to apply some concentrated pressure here, though.
33'
Fantastic stuff from Alisson who reacts superbly to tip Falcao's header over the bar following an excellent delivery from Fabra. Colombia need to start building some momentum. Too often they negotiate an opportunity and quickly fade right after.
31'
Colombia have been hit or miss in possession. They've looked a real threat at times, but have struggled to adopt any consistency in attack. They need to get the likes of James and Falcao more involved, which has not been the case thus far.
29'
CRUCIAL SAVE! Outstanding bit of skill from Neymar - where have you heard that before? - as he knifes his way into attack before Firmino is teed up for a strike, but doesn't make the best contact as Ospina is able to dive across and parry at full-stretch!
27'
Back underway and the sting has been taken out of the match since the stoppage. It's all been rather inconsistent in this first half as far as the tempo is concerned. This match could really use a goal to help things kick on.
25'
It's hot here, so the players will have themselves a water break at the halfway point of this first half...
23'
NICELY WORKED! Much, much better from Colombia who have started to tip the scales in their favour! Cardona sends a lovely pass into the area for James, but the attacker's shot from a tight angle is stopped smartly by Alisson at his near post.
21'
STAT: Colombia have won just one of the 17 previous meetings with Brazil, a 1-0 victory in the 2015 Copa America (D5, L11).
19'
FLASHED OVER! Not far away from Cuadrado by any means as the Juventus winger lashes a well-struck effort wide of the near post from just over 20 yards. He didn't have a whole lot of space there but found a way to get a shot off.
17'
IT STAYS OUT! Terrific block from Cardona do deny Fernandinho, who stabbed an effort at goal from in close as the ball fell kindly for him from a scramble following a corner. Brazil are starting to hit their stride. Colombia need to find their rhythm here.
15'
Brazil turn on the style as they attack down the right flank, but an attempted pull-back from Willian is bundled awkwardly behind by Aguilar. Before the corner is taken, Brazil's training staff is forced on with Dani Alves down again favouring his ankle after being caught in the build up.
13'
Tensions rising! Moments after Dani Alves had a free-kick deflect behind, but Brazil were denied a corner, Filipe Luis goes through the back of Juan Cuadrado to win the ball and that elicits a roar of disapproval from these home supporters. It's all a bit heated right now! The referee needs to calm things down and hope cooler heads will prevail.
11'
Colombia respond well and win a corner of their own, but the delivery at this end also lacks in quality as the pressure is quickly averted. Both sides are keen, but the attacking quality has been lagging through the first 10 minutes.
9'
STAT: Brazil have scored at least a goal in 14 successive World Cup qualifying matches, keeping eight clean sheets over that span, dating back to a 2-0 defeat to Chile in October 2015.
7'
Cardona lunges into a dangerous challenge and catches Dani Alves late. That's a painful one for the full-back, and an early warning for Cardona who has never been known to shy away from a tackle. Colombia working hard to assert themselves in every which way possible in these opening stages.
5'
It's Brazil, relaxed and playing without any pressure, who start on the front foot, putting Colombia under some early pressure. They win themselves a corner, but Neymar's delivery is poor and cleared easily at the near post.
3'
There's an absolutely terrific atmosphere here in Barranquilla. These Colombia supporters are more than up for the occasion. They know just how important this match is for them, and there's always a special buzz when Brazil come to town.

AND THEY'RE OFF! Colombia get us underway in this crucial qualifier for them, attacking left to right.
Hello and welcome to the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez for live coverage of this World Cup qualifier as Colombia host Brazil!
This is a battle between the current top two teams in South American qualifying, though their outlook is very different. Brazil have clinched their place in Russia 2018 with three games to spare, boasting an 11-point cushion atop the table.
Colombia sit second, but just two points separates them and fifth place, which is the difference between an automatic berth and a place in the intercontinental play-off. Every point is crucial from here on out.
Los Cafeteros cannot book their place in Russia 2018 tonight, but victory over the South American giants would give them a massive leg up in the competition, as it would put them in a position to punch their ticket when they host Paraguay at the start of October.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
There’s little for Brazil to play for over these final three matches, aside from pride, of course. They have won nine successive qualifiers and would throw a wrench in Colombia’s plans should they make it 10 tonight.
COLOMBIA (4-2-3-1): Ospina; Arias, Zapata, D. Sanchez, Fabra; C. Sanchez, Aguilar; Cuadrado, James, Cardona; Falcao.
Jose Pekerman makes three changes to his side from the goalless draw at Venezuela, as all the big guns are out to face Brazil. Tottenham record signing Davinson Sanchez starts at the back in place of Oscar Murillo and James Rodriguez is restored in attack at the expense of Yimmi Chara, while Wilmar Barrios is replaced by Abel Aguilar.
Tite makes four changes to the already qualified hosts, following their 2-0 victory over Ecuador. Roberto Firmino leads the line as Gabriel Jesus drops to the bench, while Fernandinho, Filipe Luis and Thiago Silva replace Casemiro, Marcelo and Miranda.
An encouraging half for Colombia comes to a disappointing close as Willian sends Brazil leading into the break! Los Cafeteros need to pull out a big effort in this second half to turn things around or their qualifying hopes will take a hit, while Brazil have of course already punched their ticket to Russia 2018.
Radamel Falcao salvages a point for Colombia with his second-half header to cancel out Willian's opener as Brazil are denied a 10th successive victory in qualifying by Los Cafeteros, who take a step closer to securing their spot in Russia 2018 with the point. That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
