Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Copa America quarter-final clash between Mexico and Chile at Levi's Stadium.
Both sides are in a desperate battle to reach the last four of the competition today, with Chile aiming to defend their crown. Meanwhile, Mexico are trying to win the tournament for the first time in their history, having previously finished as runners-up twice.
Mexico are unbeaten in the competition thus far, with victories over Uruguay and Jamaica to their name. Juan Carlos Osorio's drew in their last outing against Venezuela, but are in solid form ahead of the clash today.
Juan Antonio Pizzi's men tasted defeat in their opening match of the tourament, going down 2-1 to Argentina. However, Chile have bounced back with two victories on the spin against Bolivia and Panana to set up their showdown against Mexico in San Francisco.
Osorio has brought his key players back into the fold, having made several changes against Venezuela. Guillermo Ochoa, Miguel Layun, Nestor Araujo, Jesus Duenas, Jesus Corona and Javier Hernandez all start at Levi's Stadium.
Chile have made just one change from their win over Panama, and it's enforced for Pizzi due to Mauricio Isla's suspension. The 28-year-old was booked in stoppage time, and as a result has been replaced by Edson Puch.
The teams faced off two weeks ago in a warm-up match ahead of the tournament with Javier Hernandez scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for El Tri. Their last meeting in the Copa America came last year when they played out a thrilling 3-3 draw.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: MEXICO 0-2 CHILE
Chile have been outstanding in the first half and head into the break with a deserved lead. They've looked a threat in the final third throughout the contest, and have been clinical enough when the chances have come their way courtesy of Edson Puch and Eduardo Vargas.
Mexico have tried to match Chile's intensity, but have been beaten back in their attempts to push forward. El Tri have been unable to produce the same level of quality as their opponents, and as a result are on the brink of being dumped out of the competition.
FULL-TIME: MEXICO 0-7 CHILE
Chile book their place in the semi-finals of the Copa America by destroying Mexico at Levi's Stadium. Pizzi's men were outstanding in the final third, with Eduardo Vargas leading the way with four goals, while Edson Puch notched a brace and Alexis Sanchez also got on the scoresheet.
Thanks for joining our commentary today. Until next time, goodbye.
Juan Carlos Osorio tastes defeat for the first time as Mexico boss, but it could well cost him his job as his side were utterly embarrassed by La Roja. El Tri's attitude was questionable once they had fallen behind and they were simply outcompeted everywhere on the pitch. A truly humiliating day for Mexican football and the careers of all wearing a white shirt.
