Rooney fires a direct pass in search of Hernandez, who fails to control the pass under pressure from Dante. It bobbles out of play for a goal-kick and there's a sentiment that that might just be that for United in the Champions League this season.
90' +1
We're into the first of three minutes of stoppage time at the Allianz Arena!
90'
Bayern are happy to hold onto possession, with Neuer holding the ball in the corner of his penalty box and waiting for Hernandez to come and press him. Frustrating to watch, but Bayern are doing what they need to do in order to progress.
88'
PIZARRO! The Peruvian international is given possession deep in United's penalty area by Ribery, but his shot on the turn is easily gobbled up by De Gea. Despite conceding three times, the Spaniard hasn't had a lot to do.
87'
ROONEY! The Man United forward unleashes an effort from the edge of the penalty box, but Dante is on hand to make the block. The away side are continuing to press forward on the counter, possibly to appease their slightly disheartened fans, but Bayern remain in control.
85'
Muller is given a bearhug after leaving the pitch, with Bayern clearly of the belief that it is job done at the Allianz Arena. The Red Devils' comeback of 1999 seems unlikely to be repeated tonight, the away side haven't been able to exert any kind of sustained pressure.
84'
C. Pizarro enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
83'
Less than ten minutes stand between Bayern and yet another Champions League semi-final. United work their way down the right flank, before Boateng heads clear a poor cross. Carrick picks up the rebound, before cannoning a terrible long-range effort over the bar!
81'
A. Januzaj enters the game and replaces D. Welbeck.
Welbeck leaves the fray, looking exhausted following a tough shift, where the Englishman tracked back relentlessly. Nothing more can be asked of the forward, who has nearly run himself into the ground. Bayern continue to dominate, Guardiola's men want to progress in style.
79'
ROBBEN! The Netherlands internationals dribbles into the penalty area once again, facing up Evra, before turning onto his right foot and placing a cross into the six yard box. De Gea is quick to smother the delivery.
Minute
Description
78'
This tie looks to be beyond Man United now! The away side need two goals, when even one goal looked to be too big of an ask over the course of an hour! Robben appears to have had a big influence on Bayern's progression towards the Champions League trophy once again.
76'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
75'
Nervous clearance from Boateng! The Germany international manages to slice the ball almost over his own goalkeeper! He puffs his cheeks out, he knows how close he was from drawing United back level!
74'
J. Hernández enters the game and replaces D. Fletcher.
Just over a quarter of an hour left to play and Bayern are in the driving seat. Guardiola doesn't have a great deal of options left available to him to change the game, with plenty of youngsters replacing usual first-time regulars on the bench. The visitors finally manage to get Hernandez onto the field of play, replacing Fletcher.
73'
Rafinha gets yellow.
72'
Hernandez is being given instructions from David Moyes, as the diminutive Mexico international appears to be United's first roll of the dice. Rooney hasn't looked at his clinical best, coming back from injury especially for this game, so the poacher may just have the last laugh tonight with a vital goal.
70'
P. Evra gets yellow.
Yellow card for Evra! The Allianz Arena crowd are baying for a different colour, as the Frenchman brings down Robben as the Netherlands international was bearing down on goal. It was a poor backpass which sold Evra short, with the Red Devils thankful that there was a covering defender.
69'
Well, that has changed things! As it stands, Bayern are heading into the next round of the competition, but David Moyes knows that an equaliser from Man United would see the English side regain the advantage! The away goals rule is becoming very crucial tonight!
68'
T. Müller has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by A. Robben.
GOOOOOOOOAL! THE HOSTS LEAD 2-1! THOMAS MULLER PUTS BAYERN AHEAD! He gets in ahead of Vidic, flicking a Robben cross beyond De Gea with an instinctive finish! It's a gorgeous turn, poking the delivery past the Spanish goalkeeper!
67'
RAFINHA! The substitute nearly capitalises on an error from De Gea and Smalling, as the duo can only clear a Ribery cross to the edge of the penalty area. Vidic is on hand to make the block, however. Jones is being beaten time and time again by Ribery!
65'
Rafinha enters the game and replaces M. Götze.
MANDZUKIC! Another big chance for the Croatian striker! He gets across his man well to meet a corner delivery, but can only flash his header wide of the far post! That had De Gea worried. Meanwhile, Rafinha takes to the field, meaning that the Brazilian reverts to right-back, pushing Lahm into central midfield.
63'
Welbeck is fed in down the centre of the Bayern defence, but Boateng and Lahm manage to keep tabs on the England international, who can only nod the lofted pass into the reach of Neuer. This game has really come to life now, it's incredibly open!
62'
ROONEY! WHAT A CHANCE! Welbeck drives into the penalty box, before setting back an excellent pass to Rooney, who fails to get any power on the opportunity from 12 yards! He merely has to sidefoot the ball home, but instead he turns a tame effort well wide of the target!
61'
RIBERY! The Frenchman hits the sidenetting, causing some of the home fans to jump out of their seats in celebration! He's skipped down the flank excellently in recent passages of play, causing Jones plenty of problems. As it stands, this tie would go to extra time!
59'
M. Mandžukić has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
GOOOOOOOOAL! IT'S 1-1! BAYERN EQUALISE FROM KICK-OFF! Mandzukic turns home from inside the penalty area, after good work down the left from Ribery. The Croatia forward gets in front of goalscorer Evra to head Bayern back into the driving seat!
57'
P. Evra has scored a goal for Manchester United! Assist by A. Valencia.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! EVRA FIRES INTO THE TOP CORNER TO GIVE UNITED A 1-0 LEAD! It's sweet and Neuer has absolutely no chance, the Frenchman arrows a bullet of a strike across the keeper from 25 yards, clipping the underside of the crossbar as it went in!
55'
KAGAWA! The Japan international registers a shot on target for the away side, curling a powerful effort into Neuer's midriff from 30 yards. It was comfortable for the Germany international goalkeeper, but at least it's an attempt!
54'
Poor strike from Boateng! The central defender advances in support of the Bayern attack, before a half-clearance finds its way to the feet of the former Man City man. He can only skew a first-time strike way wide of the target, leaving De Gea with nothing to do once again.
53'
Gotze works his way to the byeline, but Carrick tracks the former Dortmund man all of the way, deflecting his cut-back behind for yet another corner. The delivery is poor, with Rooney half-clearing, before a second ball in from Kroos is denied entry to the six-yard box by Jones.
51'
Bayern are continuing to dominate, but the home side appear to be lacking ideas. Moyes has set up his team well and they appear to have the measure of the Bundesliga champions. Rooney is fed possession on the edge of the box, but his looped pass in search of Welbeck is cut out. Stalemate.
49'
Boateng and Welbeck are left in a one-on-one chase at the back for Bayern, who continue to riskily press their full-backs forward as half-backs. The Germany international comes out on top, but there is definite potential for the Red Devils to have a chance on the break.
47'
Smalling goes down in the Bayern penalty area, as a result of Neuer coming out to punch away a set piece. He takes his time to get back to his feet, despite Neuer half-dragging the youngster up from the turf. Bayern don't want the away side to slow proceedings down at all.
46'
We are back underway for the second half! Both sides have plenty of options on the bench, if either managers sees fit to make changes in search of this game's all-important first goal. No matter what occurs, Man United need a goal to have any chance of progression.
45'
We have just one minute of stoppage time to play in the first half.
44'
Jones and Fletcher combine to allow Bayern to clear their lines, before a long ball upfield almost plays Rooney in behind Bayern's high lines once again. The home fans are unhappy once more, as Valencia shoves Ribery in the back to win possession for the away side.
43'
Evra robs Muller of the ball, with the experienced left-back able to hold his own thus far. Robben is quick to retrieve possession from a poor Welbeck touch, however, before the Dutchman dances into the penalty area. He unleashes a good shot, which bounces off Smalling, before heading behind for a corner.
41'
Five minutes until the break, with the current scoreline favouring Bayern. If United continue to defend, the Bavarian giants will be more than happy to sit back and hold onto the ball, knowing that their away goal from Old Trafford is enough to see them through. Despite his suspension, Schweinsteiger may have already had the most important say in this tie.
39'
Evra goes down heavily, after appearing to be caught late by Lahm, but the referee gives nothing for the away side. He gets nowhere near the ball, catching the France international on the ankle, causing United to eventually put the ball out of play to allow the left-back to receive some brief treatment.
38'
KROOS! The Germany international tries his luck from 30 yards, but can't keep his strike down, arrowing it into the crowd. De Gea watches it over his crossbar, with the young goalkeeper probably struggling to believe that he hasn't had a save to make in the best part of 40 minutes at the Allianz Arena.
36'
Bayern are consistently dominating, with only Welbeck able to act vibrantly on the break. It's patient and measured stuff from Bayern, who appear aware that Man United are preying on their mistakes. The quality of shooting, however, remains incredibly poor from both sides.
34'
Great tracking back from Welbeck! The United forward tracks back excellently to intercept a pass that Kroos played with the intention of slotting Lahm in down the right flank. Dante has been forced into some direct balls, which haven't been accurate, showing that the Red Devils do have the measure of Bayern in their current gear.
32'
Moyes remains glued to the edge of his technical area, barking out instructions, as Man United continue to remain resilient. Robben's involvement has been problematic for the away side, but they've been able to force Bayern into less-dangerous zones of the field for the most part.
30'
Half an hour on the clock and it has been all Bayern. Alaba and Lahm have essentially been able to press up as auxiliary midfielders, linking up with Kroos in the centre of the park - giving license for Muller and Gotze to get forward. Ambitious from Guardiola, who is essentially only leaving Dante and Boateng as out-and-out defenders.
29'
Vidic takes the first yellow card of the game, with plenty more presumably to come from the away side, who have been caught out on a few occasions. De Gea remains untested, but shots have been raining in from the edge of the area. Evra breaks upfield for United, but the Frenchman is caught offside as Kagawa slipped him into the 18-yard box.
28'
N. Vidić gets yellow.
27'
Philipp Lahm has been readily deployed in central midfield this season, with the Germany international roaming into the middle of the park tonight at times, leaving Bayern with no orthodox full-back on the right. Ribery cuts inside onto his right foot, before flashing an effort narrowly wide of the near post, though De Gea had his angles covered.
25'
Finally, Welbeck has been able to change his boots, leaving Man United with ten men for the time being. There appeared to be a rip in one of them, strangely enough, but he'll be back on the field in no time. Meanwhile, Robben jinks into the area, but Vidic is on hand to block his eventual effort.
24'
Bayern are very confidently pushing players forward, with central midfielders Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze pressing into the opposition penalty area at any opportunity. If United can manage to break incisively however, there's every chance that Kroos could find himself exposed.
22'
Danny Welbeck has a bit of a footwear situation, as the English striker appears to have a problem with one of his boots, which has to be patched up by the United coaching staff. It isn't as simple as heading to the dressing room for a spare pair, the trapdoor to get there is locked until half-time!
21'
RIBERY! MULLER! Evra gets across fantastically to spare United's blushes and make the clearance! Gotze slips Ribery a smart pass, with the France international receiving the ball deep inside the visitors' penalty area, before Ribery switched the ball into the path of Muller. The Germany international couldn't set himself quickly enough to rattle an effort towards goal!
19'
Bayern continue to set the tempo, working the ball patiently, though the likes of Welbeck and Rooney are keen to press. The former has been causing plenty of issues for Dante and Boateng, using his pace and power to unnerve the defensive duo. He showed what he's capable of in the first leg.
17'
OFFSIDE! Valencia has the ball in the net, but it's been given as offside by the linesman on the far side - and rightly so. The Ecuador international managed to get to the back post unchallenged, tucking a cross beyond Neuer, but it has been chalked off.
16'
The home fans are urging their side forward, with vociferous cries of the club's name, but Man United continue to frustrate. A pocket of space opens up for Robben once again, but the Netherlands international blazes a shot high and wide of the goal, missing out on the chance to test De Gea.
14'
Great header from Vidic! The Serbian international does well to divert Robben's square ball away from the six yard box, after a wonderful defence-splitting pass from Kroos found the former Chelsea winger. Muller is then almost found by Robben, but the ball evades the head of the Germany international and bounces wide of the back post.
12'
Evra fires a low cross into the box, but Boateng is on hand to hook it clear. Valencia finds himself with the scraps, before whipping a ball into the penalty area, hoping to meet an intelligent run from Welbeck. Dante just about manages to cut it out. Nervy moments for the Bavarians.
11'
The first ten minute have passed relatively chance-free, though Rooney may still be kicking himself for taking so long to shoot when gifted space in the Bayern penalty area. Possession is being controlled by the hosts, but the Man United defence are standing firm.
9'
Ribery goes to ground in the penalty area, with the home faithful claiming for a penalty. Jones stuck with the Frenchman all of the way to the byeline, before shepherding the ball out of play well. It's going to be a long afternoon for the young full-back, it seems!
8'
ROONEY! A poor cross from Ribery is easily headed away by a stooping Phil Jones, allowing for Rooney to break upfield! The former Everton striker finds himself in behind the Bayern defence, but takes too long to unleash a shot, which is eventually blocked by the recovering Dante. In the aftermath, Rooney, clashes heads with Dante, earning the Englishman plenty of boos from the home fans.
7'
Good header from Dante! Rooney whips in an excellent cross, but the Brazilian defender rises brilliantly to outjump Welbeck and clear the danger. Man United are keen to press forward at any given moment, with blue shirts streaming into the Bayern half. They know they have to hurt Bayern on the counter.
6'
MULLER! RIBERY! The cross is poor, but bobbles into the path of Muller, who sees a first-time strike blocked well. The rebound falls to Ribery, but the France international drifts a very tame effort well wide of the far post, with De Gea remaining untested thus far.
5'
It's been a very fluid start for Bayern, with players drifting from their assigned positions, keen to receive the ball whenever possible. An early cross is whipped into a near post area, but Smalling is alive to the danger, getting in front of Mandzukic and clearing the danger behind for yet another early corner.
4'
A clash of heads between Smalling and Muller sees both players quickly back to their feet, although the former Fulham man looks a little bit dazed. Both men continue to rub their sore heads, but they're determined to continue regardless.
3'
Good work from Jones, as the former Blackburn Rovers defender gets across to deflect a Ribery cross behind for a goal-kick. The resulting set piece is cleared with ease, but Bayern are very much the dominant side thus far.
2'
An ambitious run from Robben from the very off, with the Dutchman cutting across the face of the 18-yard box from the right flank. He gives the ball to Ribery, who jinks to the byeline before placing a cross just too high for Mandzukic. The Croatian forward didn't enjoy himself against Augsburg at the weekend, but will be hoping to start firing again tonight.

We are underway in the first half! It's a great atmosphere, with Bayern wearing their usual red strip, forcing Man United to don their blue and black away attire. Be sure to stay with us for all of the action!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of one of tonight's Champions League clashes, with Man United travelling to Bavaria, to face Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich. The English outfit managed to hold Die Roten to a draw at Old Trafford, standing them in good stead for tonight's match - especially with several key absentees for the hosts. We're in for a real treat as soon as the competition's anthem rings out in the Allianz Arena, so be sure to stick with us for all of the action as it happens!
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you fully updated with proceedings from Germany, as David Moyes' side look to take advantage of Bayern's recent stutter in form. Augsburg defeated them in the Bundesliga at the weekend, ruining what would have been an unbeaten season for this evening's home side - an occurrence which Man United can take some heart from. Both Arsenal and neighbours Man City have also taken points from the Allianz Arena this campaign, proving that the Bavarian giants aren't invincible after all.
TEAM NEWS: Bayern are without Javi Martinez and Bastian Schweinsteiger through suspension, with Dante and Mario Gotze replacing the duo which started at Old Trafford. There's no room in the line-up for World Cup hopeful Rafinha, with Philipp Lahm returning back to his more natural position of right full-back. A very strong side for the hosts, who have both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben deployed in attack, providing the ammunition for the prolific Mario Mandzukic.
TEAM NEWS: Juan Mata is unavailable for the Champions League as usual, with Robin van Persie sidelined through injury. Patrice Evra is preferred to Alexander Buttner, with Phil Jones deployed at right-back following Chris Smalling's solid performance against Newcastle at the weekend. Shinji Kagawa is the man to slot in the number 10 role behind Wayne Rooney, who returns for the biggest match of United's season.
Bayern substitutes: Van Buyten, Rafinha, Pizarro, Weiser, Hojbjerg, Raeder, Weihrauch.
Man United starting line-up: De Gea; Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Fletcher, Carrick; Valencia, Kagawa, Welbeck; Rooney.
Man United substitutes: Ferdinand, Giggs, Lindegaard, Hernandez, Young, Buttner, Januzaj.
Plenty of memories will be flooding back for the travelling Red Devils, who of course played part in 2000's Champions League final, defeating Bayern in second half stoppage time. Back in 2009/2010 season, however, United came up second best against Die Roten, with Franck Ribery and Ivica Olic grabbing the goals. Wayne Rooney did manage to find the net in that match, something which David Moyes will hope his star striker can replicate tonight.
For Ryan Giggs, tonight could be a momentous occasion, as the Welsh midfielder would match Raul's Champions League appearance record. It would be his 142nd outing in this competition, with the veteran of course able to make an impact from the bench. That being said, the 40-year-old would certainly take progression into the next round over an appearance!
Plenty of alterations for Man United from the side which faced Bayern at home, as Rio Ferdinand is dropped in favour of Chris Smalling, while Darren Fletcher comes into the defensive midfield two, with the visitors presumably hoping that the presence of the Scotland international instils some calm. Danny Welbeck features once again, but this time on the left hand side of midfield, given that the English striker can be trusted with defensive responsibility and tracking back.
Following the tight first leg, it's hard to predict which way this tie will swing, given that Man United coped very well with the patient football of Guardiola's Bayern. In recent press conferences, the former Barcelona coach has predicted that Moyes' outfit will look to frustrate and marshal their penalty area, before looking to exploit Die Roten's mistakes and break quickly. A fair analysis, which could prove fruitful, based on Welbeck's performance at Old Trafford.
Only moments until this game kicks off, with Man United not expected to progress any further in the Champions League after tonight's match!
HALF TIME! The opening period ends with Boateng ballooning a terrible effort over the bar, as the scoreline remains goalless. It's a stalemate, but an interesting one, with Bayern dominating the game but unable to score. United are going out as it stands, but an away goal would see the Red Devils push Die Roten all the way.
Man United did have the ball in the back of the net, courtesy of Valencia turning home a back post cross, but the Ecuadorian was denied by the linesman's flag. Shots aplenty, but Robben is the main culprit for not hitting the target for the hosts. De Gea has been a worried spectator.
Be sure to tune back in ten minutes for all of the second half action, as Man United look to cause an upset and progress into the next round of the Champions League. Guardiola's men have been dominant, but the Spaniard knows that the visitors can hurt his outfit on the break.
FULL TIME! Bayern progress into the next round of the Champions League, despite falling back initially in a 3-1 victory over Man United. A hard-working performance from Moyes' side was undone by individual quality from Robben and Muller!
Patrice Evra gave the Red Devils a shock lead with a thunderbolt, before goals from Mandzukic, Muller and Robben turned the tie around for the hosts. Guardiola's men eventually made their quality count, but Die Roten will worry that they didn't kick into gear offensively until they fell behind.
That's all that we have time for at the Allianz Arena, as Bayern dumped out Man United in the knock-out stages of the Champions League. Despite the threat of an upset, the Bavarians giants made their individual quality count in the end. I've been Simon Harrison, and I hope to see you all again next time.
