There's no sign of life from Dortmund here, as they're being pinned back in their end and showing no fight to break out of it. This has been an abysmal second-half showing, and they're going to leave here with the fate they deserve.
90'
There will be three minutes added on at the end of this match, as the ball is being kept deep in the Dortmund end by Stuttgart.
88'
D. Aogo gets yellow.
Time is running out on Dortmund as they desperately look to keep the ball in attack, where they have merely been strangers in the second half. They have a free-kick here, however, in a position for a cross, as Aogo goes into the book.
86'
Brekalo nearly puts the contest to bed, but his first-time effort is sent straight at Burki on the end of a stunning passage of play from Insua on the left! The Argentine full-back has been sensational tonight.
85'
D. Aogo enters the game and replaces B. Özcan.
And now a final change from the hosts, as Dennis Aogo replaces Ozcan.
83'
Raphaël Guerreiro enters the game and replaces A. Schürrle.
A final roll of the dice from Bosz, who introduces Raphael Guerreiro for the final minutes, with Schurrle giving way.
82'
STAT: Stuttgart are on the cusp of their 500th Bundesliga home victory. They haven’t won a game agaisnt BVB on home turf since January 2010, drawing one and losing six since.
80'
NEARLY THERE! Asano has been absolutely terrific since coming on, and he nearly nabs the goal he deserves here with a deft little flick on to send an effort towards the far corner, but it drifts just wide!
78'
Stuttgart back on the front foot here as they look for the decisive goal that would put this match to bed. They are looking sharp every time they get forward, but will have to be wary not to get caught out and gift the visitors a chance at the equaliser.

Description
76'
For as well as Stuttgart have played, those last two opportunities should come as a stern warning. They are not through to the finish line yet, and still have plenty of work to do if they are to see this one out.
74'
TERRIFIC STOP! Great reactions from Zieler to stick a leg out and deny Schurrle from close range, after a lovely assist from Dahoud. Some warnings here from Dortmund as they threaten to pull level yet again.
72'
STUNNING FINISH, BUT IT WON'T COUNT! Yarmolenko takes a pass in stride and bursts behind the defence, before chipping a sublime finish over Zieler and in! His joy is short-lived, however, as the striker handled the ball in the build-up - though it had little effect on the end result!
70'
INCHES OVER! Well that would have settled it! Asano does so well on the break, driving to the byline and cutting it back for Ozcan, who sends his first-time effort inches over the bar! What a time that would have been to score his first international goal!
69'
STAT: BVB have won just one of their last six Bundesliga games after an international break since the start of last season (D3 L2) – a 1-0 at home victory over Bayern in November 2016.
67'
These Stuttgart players are first to every ball, as it just seems like inspiration is lacking from Dortmund. The visiting players don't have that desire they need to break themselves out of this funk - it's as if they have given up.
65'
OUTSTANDING FROM BARTRA! It's a goal-saving challenge from the centre-half who slides in to poke the ball away from Asano, who was played clean through on goal after Dahoud was caught in possession! That had to be perfect, and it was.
63'
Mahmoud Dahoud enters the game and replaces S. Kagawa.
The second Dortmund change sees Kagawa, who has lacked sharpness in attack tonight, replaced by Mahmoud Dahoud.
61'
One-way traffic at the moment, as the majority of the match is being played in Dortmund's half here. The yellow shirts are having to drop deeper and deeper in defence, completely negating their attacking influence.
59'
GLORIOUS CHANCE! The ball falls oh so kindly to Baumgartl in front of goal from a corner, but he can't get the right contact on the finish to beat Burki from in close! You get the sense that if that fell to one of their attacking players, it ends up in the back of the net!
57'
Stuttgart remain confident on the ball and are doing an excellent job of keeping possession and holding the ball up in attack, which has contributed to Dortmund's frustrations here. This is a clinical display from the hosts.
Insua makes a lovely run forward and, although his cross was cut out, Dortmund fail to clear their lines convincingly, keeping pressure on. The visitors are out of answers at the moment.
55'
STAT: Dortmund are unbeaten in their last 12 top-flight matches against Stuttgart (W7 D5) – their last defeat in this fixture came in January 2010 in a 4-1 away defeat. BVB have won six of the last seven clashes, racking up 23 goals in the process.
53'
T. Baumgartl gets yellow.
Baumgartl was walking a tight line after his warning in the first half, and he goes into the book here for his first foul of the second half.
52'
Almost an immediate response from Dortmund, as Kagawa gets on the end of a terrific cross from Yarmolenko, but can't bury his finish from 12 yards as he lost his footing!
51'
J. Brekalo has scored a goal for Stuttgart! Assist by B. Özcan.
Lovely pick out from Ozcan who provides the assist.
STUTTGART RESTORE THEIR LEAD! Outstanding stuff from Brekalo, who sprints to latch onto a long ball forward from Ozcan, cuts onto his left in the area and drives an effort through the legs of Zagadou and Burki and into the back of the net!
50'
Philipp has really grown into the match since the start, and he's proving Dortmund's most lively player here as the game wears on. Stuttgart begun the half on the front foot, but a good surge from Philipp on the counter wins the visitors a free-kick in the attacking half.
48'
It's a surprise to see Akolo give way, considering how much of a game-changer he was in that first half. It only makes sense to think he must have picked up an injury before the interval, though the where and why of it remains to be seen.
46'
D. Zagadou enters the game and replaces S. Papastathopoulos.
J. Brekalo enters the game and replaces C. Akolo.
Sokratis picked up a knock in the first half and is replaced here by Dan-Axel Zagadou.
The hosts' second change sees Josip Brkalo replace scorer Akolo.
Back underway in the second half.
45' +3
Penalty saved by R. Zieler!
M. Philipp has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
Zieler guesses right, but there was little he could do to keep out the rebound.
SAVED! Schurrle can't slot home the penalty, but his blushes are spared as Philipp runs on to slot home the rebound.
PHILIPP TO THE RESCUE! Zieler does well to save Schurrle's penalty, but Philipp follows up briliantly, smashing a sublime finish into the top corner! Terrific strike from the youngster, and what a time to score it!
HALF-TIME: STUTTGART 1-1 BORUSSIA DORTMUND.
45' +2
PENALTY TO DORTMUND! Pavard sticks an arm out to block Gotze's throughball intended for Yarmolenko, and the referee doesn't hesitate in pointing to the spot! It's a massive lifeline for Dortmund!
45' +1
T. Asano enters the game and replaces D. Ginczek.
Ginczek is forced off here through injury, replaced by Takuma Asano.
45'
There will be two minutes added on at the end of this first half.
43'
Bosz shouting instructions from the touchline as we approach the interval, while the training staff comes out to tend to a knock picked up by Ginczek. The tempo has drained out of the match here and it looks as though there will be no changes to the scoreline heading into the break.
41'
STAT: Entering tonight, Stuttgart were the only side yet to net in the opening 30 minutes of a game this term – BVB had scored a league-high 11 goals in the same period.
39'
Beck is the latest to commit himself to a strong foul, but he too escapes without a caution! Dortmund players are furious with the referee's leniency, and while it is surprising, at least he's remained consistent in this first half.
37'
OUCH! That's a robust challenge from Baumgartl, who catches Yarmolenko with his studs showing, sending the striker hard to the ground. It's a bit late and he didn't make contact with the ball, but somehow the Stuttgart defender gets off with only a warning.
35'
SMART SAVE! Gotze is gifted a bit of an opening at the top of the penalty area, but Zieler does well to react and parry his well-struck effort. A sign of life from the visitors, but these opportunities are proving few and far between still.
33'
Frustration is building in the Dortmund side, as play comes to a halt with Sokratis in need of some medical attention. He's grabbing his midriff, which suggests he may have just had the wind knocked out of him following a hard collision.
31'
STAT: Stuttgart have yet to drop a point from a leading position in the Bundesliga 2017-18 (four matches).
29'
Kagawa tries his luck after being teed up from 18 yards, but he gets the contact all wrong as Zieler makes a simple save. Back the other way come Stuttgart and Ginczek has a good opportunity, but can't make the most of it. Tempo picking up again.
27'
Slightly more encouraging here from Dortmund as they push the pace a bit through Gotze, and at least threaten to break into the penalty area. They're showing a bit more urgency, but th quality has not been there.
25'
There's no inventiveness or ingenuity in this Dortmund midfield. Gotze and Kagawa have not been positive enough in possession, despite getting more involved. The visitors are lacking width, as Toljan and Schmelzer need to do a better job of offering support on the flanks.
23'
Beck is making good strides on the overlap and certainly isn't lacking in support. Stuttgart remain the more threatening side in possession, as Dortmund struggle to clear the ball when the hosts break into that final third.
21'
STAT: Stuttgart are unbeaten at home in 2017 (W11 D3) – their last defeat on their own patch came on 12th December 2016, in a 2-1 defeat to Hannover, in what remains their only home loss under Hannes Wolf.
19'
There's a whole lot of nothing happening on the pitch at the moment, with both sides exchanging possession around the halfway line. It's becoming congested in midfield as both sides have tightened things up at the back.
17'
Stuttgart in complete control and looking full of confidence at the moment. They have the best home record in the Bundesliga this season and they're showing why in this first half, with their quality and confidence shining through all over the pitch.
15'
Plenty of pressure now for Dortmund but nothing to show for it as they pass it around on the fringes, failing to penetrate the defence. It's all a bit pedestrian from them at the moment.
13'
Following another period of Stuttgart pressure, Dortmund are looking a bit shaky. The visitors really need to dig deep here to avoid potentially falling further behind - it's trending that way at the moment.
11'
STAT: Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten in their last 10 competitive matches played without Aubameyang (W9, D1).
9'
That will do something to restore Dortmund's confidence a bit. Yarmolenko, who has a big opportunity tonight leading the line in Aubameyang's absence, shows a nice blend of pace and skill to burst through on goal on the end of Gotze's throughball, but his strike is parried by Zieler.
7'
For a team struggling of late, this is exactly the type of start Dortmund could not afford. Another inexplicable mix-up at the back nearly gifts Stuttgart a second! Confidence is wearing really thin in the Dortmund side right now.
5'
C. Akolo has scored a goal for Stuttgart!
DISASTER AT THE BACK GIFTS STUTTGART THE LEAD! Calamity! No pressure on the Dortmund defence as a long ball is played over the top, with Bartra easily snuffing it out. Burki inexplicably charges off his line and can't control Bartra's back pass, allowing Akolo to scoop it up and walk the ball into the net!
3'
Stuttgart spend the bulk of the opening minutes in the Dortmund end, creating some nervy moments for their back-line. After soaking up the pressure, however, the visitors break encouragingly and Schurrle's effort is inches wide following a delightful cross from Yarmolenko.
1'
AND WE'RE OFF! Dortmund get this 100th match of the 2017/18 Bundesliga season underway!
Hello and welcome to the Mercedes-Benz-Arena for live coverage of this Friday night Bundesliga clash as Stuttgart host Borussia Dortmund!
After leading the Bundesliga for much of the first quarter of the season, Dortmund have dropped to third, a distant six points back of leaders Bayern having picked up just one point from their last four league matches.
It’s a troubling period for Peter Bosz’s side, who have also squandered their Champions League hopes during that stretch. The international break provided a welcome period to delve into their issues and hit the restart button.
Stuttgart’s Bundesliga return has followed a strict script. They have 13 of a possible 15 points from their home matches, but have yet to claim a single point on their travels – keeping them down in 12th place, comfortably up on the bottom three.
They have turned the Mercedes-Benz-Arena into a fortress, and given their troubles on the road, their home form will prove crucial to their survival this season – and victor tonight over reeling Dortmund could take them within touching distance of the top half of the table.
Hannes Wolf has made three changes from the 3-1 defeat in Hamburg before the break. Holger Badstuber comes into defence as the hosts revert to a five-man defence, with the two full-backs pushing into more advanced roles. Dennis Aogo, Dzenis Burnic and Takuma Asano give way, with Santiago Ascacibar and Christian Gentner also coming into the fold.
Peter Bosz makes four changes from the 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich. The big news surrounds Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is dropped for the match by the club as a result of disciplinary reasons. Andre Schurrle takes his place in attack, with Andriy Yarmolenko leading the line. The other changes see Jeremy Toljan, Mario Gotze and Maximilian Philipp replace Omer Toprak, Gonzalo Castro and Christian Pulisic.
Roman Burki's dreadful error gifted Chadrac Akolo the opening goal inside of five minutes, and Stuttgart appeared in complete control for much of the first half until a last-second strike from Maximilian Philipp restored parity heading into the interval at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena. All to play for in the second half!
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
Josip Brekalo secures Stuttgart their 500th Bundesliga victory as his second-half tally proves the difference after goals from Chadrac Akalo and Maximilian Philipp cancelled each other out in the first half. More misery from Dortmund, who have now lost five of their last six Bundesliga matches.
