Penalty shootout: M. Hummels (Bayern Munich) scored!
Penalty shootout: A. Ramsey (Arsenal) scored!
91'
Penalty shootout: D. Alaba (Bayern Munich) missed!
90' +4
A. Iwobi has scored a goal for Arsenal! Assist by A. Ramsey.
Assist Aaron Ramsey
Goal Alex Iwobi
IWOBI! HE'S DONE IT! Terrific counter by Arsenal, and Ramsey clips a perfect cross in for Iwobi to head into the far corner and make it 1-1!
90' +3
Hummels marauds forward and Bayern get the ball wide to Coman, and his cross is cleared as Bernat threatened to strike.
90' +2
Well it certainly hasn't been 5-1, but Bayern have been good value for the lead and are just a couple of minutes away from claiming the victory.
Minute
Description
90'
There will be four added minutes, according to the fourth official.
89'
Great tiki-taka play from Bayern, especially by Renato Sanches, who clips the ball over for Bernat to beat Maitland-Niles and pull it back to Wintzheimer but Monreal intervenes at the vital moment to clear.
87'
Bayern get lazy and almost get caught on the counter, but somehow they work it into an attack and Alaba tries to finish the move off with a backheel volley but he completely misses the ball.
84'
J. Willock gets yellow.
Yellow card Joseph Willock
Bayern again hit Arsenal on the counter, and Willock deliberately brings down Dorsch to stop the attack and get himself booked.
83'
Good advantage played by the referee as Bayern move forward, but it leads to nothing as Arsenal do well to stop the killer pass.
81'
Into the 10 minutes here in China as Wintzheimer is put through on goal, but he's called back for offside. Not one for VAR, this time, as he's a good yard or two off.
Walcott! Best chance for Arsenal this half as he tries to bend one with his right foot from the edge of the box but Fruchtl is equal to it and does well to hold on.
78'
Coman delightfully spins away from one defender and has the chance to play a pass to either side of him as Bayern break, but he opts to keep it and loses out to Elneny.
76'
F. Götze enters the game and replaces Rafinha.
Substitution Márcio Rafael Ferreira de Souza Felix Götze
75'
M. Friedl enters the game and replaces F. Ribéry.
N. Dorsch enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
As was the story of the first half, Bayern started strong but Arsenal have fought back and have been forcing the issue much more than their opponents. Still just a one-goal lead for Bayern.
Substitution Franck Bilal Ribéry Marco Friedl
Substitution Corentin Tolisso Niklas Dorsch
Ribery, Tolisso and Rafinha go off, with Bayern bringing on Felix Gotze, Niklas Dorsch and Marco Friedl as we break momentarily for drinks.
73'
Substitution Daniel Nii Tackie Mensah Welbeck Edward Nketiah
Welbeck has made his final impact as he is withdrawn for Eddie Nketiah.
72'
E. Nketiah enters the game and replaces D. Welbeck.
E. Martínez enters the game and replaces P. Čech.
Substitution Petr Čech Damián Emiliano Martínez
71'
Change in net for Arsenal as Cech makes way for Emiliano Martinez.
70'
Good skill from Nelson with a stepover completely bamboozling Pantovic, who bundles him over at the side of the box. The free kick is cleared and Bayern win a throw-in.
68'
Trouble for Arsenal as Maitland-Niles goes down in the box after a Bayern corner, but he seems okay and is able to carry on. He's not done too bad today, the young lad, especially given he has been up against Ribery all game.
67'
Iwobi has a determined look about him as he turns playmaker, but it leads to nothing as Fruchtl's plays a lovely one-two with the back of his own defender before catching the ball.
64'
M. Wintzheimer enters the game and replaces R. Lewandowski.
M. Pantović enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
Substitution James David Rodríguez Rubio Miloš Pantović
Substitution Robert Lewandowski Manuel Wintzheimer
Iwobi delightfully brings down a mis-hit clearance - which went so high the ball now has snow on it - and wins a free kick on the edge of the box. The dead ball is overhit, mind, and Bayern clear to Cech, who is a good 40 yards off his line to beat Ribery to the ball.
Lewandowski and James go off for the German champions, with Manuel Wintzheimer and Milos Pantovic coming on for the final 25 minutes or so.
62'
A. Ramsey enters the game and replaces G. Xhaka.
Substitution Granit Xhaka Aaron Ramsey
Aaron Ramsey is coming on for Xhaka as Wenger looks to give his entire squad a runout.
61'
Just under half an hour to go now and Arsenal are still no closer to finding that elusive equaliser. Which hardly comes as a surprise, given the lack of experience in their side following the introduction of little-known players like Bramall and Willock.
58'
Mohamed Elneny gets yellow.
Yellow card Mohamed Naser Elsayed Elneny
Elneny takes a wayward touch and Tolisso comes flying in, but Elneny catches the Bayern man and is booked. Not quite sure about that one as Elneny won the ball and Tolisso's tackle was a bit dangerous.
57'
Ribery is playing on as Bayern continue to dominate here, with their composure in both attack and defence frustrating Arsenal
55'
Maitland-Niles decides enough is enough and clatters into Ribery, winning the ball but forcing the medical team to come out to tend to the Frenchman. Looks like he might go off with Ancelotti unlikely to take any risks.
52'
Arsenal win a free kick in a good position, about 30 yards out and just to the left of the goal. Walcott takes it but it's straight at the head of Renato in the wall.
51'
All Bayern so far this period as they threaten again, but Ribery falls over looking for a free kick and Arsenal are able to clear.
48'
Another great save by Cech! Coman has found space down the right twice in this half already, and this time his early ball just evades Lewandowski, before James' powerful first-time shot is parried away by Cech.
46'
T. Walcott enters the game and replaces A. Lacazette.
J. Willock enters the game and replaces F. Coquelin.
C. Bramall enters the game and replaces K. Bielik.
C. Früchtl enters the game and replaces T. Starke.
A. Iwobi enters the game and replaces M. Özil.
K. Coman enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Renato Sanches enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
Substitution Tom Starke Christian Früchtl
Substitution Javier Martínez Aginaga Kingsley Coman
Substitution Thomas Müller Renato Júnior Luz Sanches
Substitution Francis Coquelin Joseph Willock
Substitution Alexandre Lacazette Theo Walcott
Substitution Mesut Özil Alex Iwobi
Substitution Krystian Bielik Cohen Bramall
Arsenal kick off and they have 45 minutes to try salvage something from this game. They have also brought on Alex Iwobi for Ozil, Theo Walcott for Lacazette, and Joe Willock for Coquelin. Looks like they have changed tactics and gone to a back four.
Arsenal have also brought on Cohen Bramall for Bielik.
45' +2
Oh almost 2-0! Bayern break and get a four-on-three, but Xhaka sprints back to intercept Ribery's square ball back to James six yards out. That would have been a devastating blow for Arsenal.
45' +1
Two minutes of injury time have been signalled.
45'
Another wrong call by the officials denies Ozil a chance after he was put through in the box. *cough* VAR *cough*.
43'
R. Nelson enters the game and replaces S. Kolašinac.
Substitution Sead Kolašinac Reiss Nelson
CECH! Great stop by the Arsenal 'keeper! Ribery spots James making a late run into the box and the Colombian takes a touch before half-volleying it towards goal, but Cech rushes out to beat it away. James should have scored but take nothing away from the save.
Kolasinac has been taken off by Wenger and replaced by Reiss Nelson. One wonders whether there is an injury or if the Arsenal manager is sick of him letting Bayern attackers past him every time.
40'
Another save by Cech! Maitland-Niles shows Ribery the byline and the Frenchman delightfully skips towards goal before pulling it back to Bernat, but his shot is deflected which forces Cech into another reaction save.
38'
Great save by Cech! Muller's first touch is loose but it allows him to open his body up for a shot, which isn't the best but it hits Monreal on the way through and Cech has to make a sharp save to keep it out.
35'
Lazy pass by Ribery gives Welbeck the ball on halfway, and he beats two defenders before being rightly called back for handball.
32'
LACAZETTE! Oh you have to score those! Ozil threads the ball into the striker, but his shot is too close to Starke and he gets down to save it. Arsenal fans will be hoping he gets the misses out of the way in pre-season and buries them when the Premier League starts up next month.
30'
And we have a drinks break after half an hour. Hardly a surprise, given that it's 33C (92F) in Shanghai right now.
28'
Both teams looking to play on the ground but both defences are holding strong. Still 1-0 and that scoreline doesn't look like changing any time soon.
24'
Javi Martinez has been booked after saying some choice words to the referee. 24 minutes into a friendly and we've had two yellows. No wonder they call them 'exhibition' matches these days...
22'
Javi Martínez gets yellow.
Yellow card Javier Martínez Aginaga
21'
Tolisso denied by the offside flag! Well, well, well. Muller heads it downwards to his teammate, who slots past Cech with ease but the assistant's flag is up. He is, however, at least a yard onside. Where is the video assistant referee (VAR) when you need him?!
19'
F. Coquelin gets yellow.
Yellow card Francis Coquelin
Cynical foul by Coquelin as Ribery threatened to break, with the Arsenal man deliberately going through the back of him to earn himself a booking.
17'
Tolisso concedes a free kick about 40 yards away from his goal, but Arsenal opt to play it along the ground and the German side can clear.
14'
Ribery bursts into the box and tries to play it back to a teammate, but he can only find Monreal and Arsenal are able to clear with Cech stranded. Any Bayern boot and it would have been 2-0.
11'
OZIL! Should have scored! Welbeck plays a sumptuous curling ball into the unmarked Ozil, who made a storming run into the box but could only fire it straight at Starke. The 'keeper knew very little about it and six inches either side would have made it 1-1.
9'
Penalty goal scored by R. Lewandowski for Bayern Munich!
Penalty Goal Robert Lewandowski
PENALTY TO BAYERN! Maitland-Niles bundles over Bernat in the box, and despite the complaints, the referee gives it. Lewandowski to take...
GOAL! The Pole easily slots away the spot kick, sending Cech the wrong way to give Bayern the lead. Easy as you like
8'
Chance for Arsenal after Welbeck picks out the onrushing Xhaka on the edge of the box, but he fires his shot well into Chinese air.
6'
Side netting from James! Ribery turns Maitland-Niles inside out before floating a cross into James, but he snatches at his shot and it hits the side netting at the near post.
4'
James' throughball over the top finds Lewandowski on the edge of the area, but he dallies with it and Monreal can get back to get a foot in. First sign of real intent by either side.
3'
It's all Bayern so far as Cech's pass - just Arsenal's third touch of the game - is wayward and goes out for a throw in his own third. Comes to nothing, though.
1'
Bayern and Lewandowski kick us off and we are underway in Shanghai.
Hello and welcome to live text commentary of Bayern Munich v Arsenal in the International Champions Cup.
This is the second match in this year's ICC following Dortmund's 3-1 win over AC Milan yesterday.
Bayern Munich XI: Tom Starke, Rafinha, Juan Bernat, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Corentin Tolisso, Franck Ribéry, Javi Martínez, Thomas Müller, James Rodríguez; Robert Lewandowski.
Arsenal XI: Petr Cech; Krystian Bielik, Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal, Ainsley Maitland-Niles; Francis Coquelin, Granit Xhaka, Sead Kolasinac, Mesut Ozil; Danny Welbeck, Alexandre Lacazette.
The teams have been announced in Shanghai so let's take a look at them....
This match is in China today - the third time the competition has been held in the Asian nation. Real Madrid won it the first time here, in 2015, and there was no winner in the 2016 edition after extreme weather conditions caused the Manchester derby friendly to be cancelled.
Would anyone bet against 5-1 today? Even in a friendly, Bayern are unlikely to show much mercy and we all know how much they love beating Arsenal...
Just a few minutes to go until kick off now, with both sides boasting new high-profile players in their ranks. Bayern are starting James Rodriguez, who signed on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid, whilst Lacazette starts for Arsenal following his reported £46.5 million move from Lyon.
Quick note on the Arsenal team: Mertesacker has dropped out through illness and has been replaced by Mohamed Elneny.
And the referee blows up for half-time, with Bayern Munich leading Arsenal 1-0 thanks to Lewandowski's early penalty.
Both sides have played well and have had chances, and on a different day we could be at 3-3 already. Bayern had a goal by Tolisso wrongly ruled out for offside, and Arsenal should be on the scoresheet through Lacazette.
Petr Cech has made some valuable stops for Arsenal to keep his side in it, notably from Muller and James, whilst Starke made a good save from Lacazette but has otherwise been largely untroubled.
The teams are coming back out now, and we are just moments away from the second half kicking off.
Renato Sanches, Kingsley Coman and goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl are coming on for Bayern in place of Muller, Martinez and Starke.
Iwobi's header was the last kick of the match and Arsenal have, somehow, salvaged a draw here! Lewandowski gave Bayern a deserved lead in the 9th minute with a penalty, and the German side had so many chances to score more but they failed to take any of them and have been made to pay by Iwobi.
Petr Cech made some brilliant saves to keep his side in it, denying Muller and James. And now we go into a penalty shootout to decide a winner.
What a turn of events! Bayern led and dominated for most of the match, but Alex Iwobi's equaliser with the last touch of the game sent the game into penalties and Arsenal won the shootout 3-2!
Great spectacle for fans here in China and a good advert for the ICC as a whole.
Penalty SO Miss David Olatukunbo Alaba
Penalty SO Goal Aaron Ramsey
Alaba misses for Bayern! Poor penalty and it's well-saved by Martinez.
Penalty SO Goal Mats Hummels
Ramsey scores! He absolutely blasts it down the middle and Fruchtl shifted the wrong way and couldn't get back to it. 1-0 Arsenal!
Penalty SO Miss Mohamed Naser Elsayed Elneny
Hummels scores! Good penalty from the defender, and he plants it into the side of the goal with ease. 1-1.
Elneny misses! Great save by Fruchtl, who flies to his left to keep out the Arsenal man. 1-1 after two each.
Penalty SO Goal Ignacio Monreal Eraso
Penalty SO Goal Kingsley Coman
Coman makes it 2-1! Right in the corner and it squirms under Martinez's body. Great penalty.
Penalty SO Goal Alex Iwobi
Penalty SO Miss Renato Júnior Luz Sanches
Renato hits the crossbar! Went searching for the top corner but got under it too much and he hits the woodwork. 2-2 still.
Monreal scores! Brilliant penalty right into the top corner to keep parity.
Penalty SO Miss Juan Bernat Velasco
Iwobi scores! Somehow it goes under Fruchtl and it's now 3-2 Arsenal!
Bernat misses and Arsenal win the shootout! Not a good penalty and Martinez is able to get down to it and keep it out, giving his side the win!
A good start to the tournament from Arsenal, who face Chelsea in Beijing on Saturday, whilst Bayern will have to pick themselves up ahead of their clash against AC Milan on the same day.
Thank you for joining me here at Shanghai Stadium, where Arsenal have beaten Bayern Munich 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in normal time!
